In the beginning why do you do it now? Also, if the eating of meat was done humanly before when God allowed it. It is anything but humane now. Taking that into consideration wouldn't it be a violation of God's law to be kind to the animals.

After the flood - because the earth was no longer as fruitful as it had once been - god made the concession for people to eat meat for our benefit (Gen 9:3), although it was not that way originally (Gen 1:29). While the use of animals for food is not against the will of God, their cruel treatment is. “The righteous one is caring for the soul of his domestic animal,” says the Bible at Proverbs 12:10. And the Mosaic Law commanded proper care of domestic animals.—Exodus 23:4, 5; Deuteronomy 22:10; 25:4. So whether to eat meat or not is a personal decision and is up to the individual to decide.

According to Genesis, men were allowed to eat meat after the flood. Apparently not before. As during ice ages, men had to eat meat and use animal milk to survive. Animals are more adaptable to changes in climate (for awhile anyway).

I'm not sure I understand the last part of your question. The sabbath day and the sabbath year was also for the benefit of animals, according to scripture. why would being kind to animals be a violation.

I eat meat. I would eat a lot less meat if I had to kill it and clean it first. That's just the way it is....

Killing of animal seems bad beacuse they are living beings right?. Most people forget that plants are also living beings. So if both are living beings what should man eat. If the same formula is applied then eggs should not be taken as well as they are candidate living beings. Researches also suggest that plants feel pain as well however their voice is on a frequency that is not audible by humans so why should man give pain to plants

Being kind means that you should not hurt the animal for fun or pleasure. You should kill it for enjoyment however in order to take it as food you should kill it in a way that causes least pain. E.g slaughtering animal is less painful that shooting it to death. We Muslims and orthodox jews do the slaughtering which is less painful.

As far as my knowledge is concerned no religion forces you to eat meat. You have the right to be vegetarian if you dont like meat.. GOD will never sin you for that

It's not that I think it's killing the animals or anything. Although I think it's wrong to have animals captive like that, I also know that humans were made to eat meat, duh. I'm not protesting anything here.

I just realized a lot of the meat I was intaking was bad for me. A lot of fat, grease, etc... So I switched to being a vegetarian. I'm not a complete vegetarian. I, like many out there, still eat fish. Some people say I'm not a vegitarian because of that, well I label myself as such. I'm happy the way I am :-).

Oh, and I hate you vegitarians and vegans who go around telling people what they should and shouldn't eat. You make the rest of us look bad. When I tell someone I'm vegitarian now they ask me if I'm going to try to convert them, that's not right!

Hi,
People will watch television and they see those cowboy movies, and cowboys used to take raw meat and eat that, and they get like that. They got like animals and they used to kill anyone around. How you eat, so you become. See, the way you eat, the way you become.

You know, it's like people or the beings that are supposed to eat meat, like cats, lions or animals like that, they always lick water. They don't, they don't suck water. They always lick it. They take their tongue out like that. You have seen how a cat drinks water and how a dog drinks it. Human beings drink water by sucking like cows, horse and goat and such vegetarian animals. What you think God made any mistake by making vegetarians behaviour different than lion, cat and dogs? Lions, cats and dogs have claws, two teeth out to bite but where is such claws and teeth in cows, goats and human beings?

The root is the consciousness, but where does the consciousness actually lie ? Because root, if you take root itself, it's in a seed. You see, there is a little explanation to that. If you are eating meat, you are eating out of a being, right ? Like supposedly, some people eat cow, right? Cow comes from life, a mother. Right ? And that also come from a life, and it's a life to a life to a life circle. But a plant does not come from a life. It comes from dead, from a seed which is dead. It doesn't need any nutrition. It's a dead seed. When you plant it, and that's when it becomes (alive), for it to grow, and to give you fruits.

It all seems that these fruits/vegetables are given to a human being to eat them. A man would not be able to live on meat alone. He'll have to still come to nature and ask for its fruits / vegetables. But a man can live on fruits and vegetables.

If you need to know more on this subject you can contact any hindu saint or any such person who preach hinduism.

Thanks

I am a vegan because of the horrendous animal sufferering, even on dairy farms and egg-laying chickens. They REALLY suffer, and I want no part in that. I don't think God would approve of the way we treat animals. If you want to know more about why vegan is the healthiest option and the best for the animals and the environment, please e-mail me. I am a dietitian. Thank you.

A good book to read is The Food Revolution by John Robbins.

Yes, we have dominion over animals, but that doesn't mean we can do whatever we want and torture them. They are living creatures who feel pain and have emotions. We are above them, but we should take care of them, or at least treat them humanely. God is above us, but he still loves us and doesn't want us to be hurt. How could He approve of the torture on today's animal farms?

I'm a veggie, but I don't get your point.

People should kill humanely, but they don't. That's a severe animal rights issue. It actually may be something that people have to give account to God for, I don't know. I also know animals kill other animals brutally and they used to didn't eat each other at all in the beginning.

We wasn't? Bad grammar. Lack of animal meat protein. No god. Where does it say in any religious text to only eat vegetables, another living and growing thing.

i guess not all religion preach kindness to animal by abstainig from meat, Jain religion is against all kind of violence to animals, but some Hindu sect such as the followeres of Shakta tradition (i.e. worship of the Shakti) has sacrifice of animals as part of rituals even bulls are scarificed. I feel nowadays its more on the grounds of health that ppl have started avoiding meat.....
