They are called domestic short hair breed. The color is orange tabby. Most orange tabbys are males because of genetics. Domestic short hair is a very common breed and you can find them in any local animal shelter or SPCA. I know if you adopt a pet from SPCA you can have your cat spayed/neutered for a very inexpensive price. My cat "Miss Kitty" (a domestic short hair tabby) was thrown into a dumpster and found by my son's daycare. She is a very sweet cat. Good luck!

It looks like a regular ol' domestic shorthair (the way vets classify 'mixed breed cats') orange tabby, with broken mackeral stripes. The closest purebred it resembles is the Egyptian Mau.

In America it is called Domestic Short Hair. It is also known as American Short Hair. I have a silver/black striped cat similar to the orange cat on the label. Besides striped they also come in a number of colors and patterns. Hope this helps since you are not in America.

If it's a purebred, it's a tabby American Shorthair. Chances are good, however, that it's not purebred and is a Domestic Shorthair, i.e. mutt. :) Please go check local humane societies and rescues, and you can likely find the perfect cat for you.

Also, http://petfinder.com will likely have a list of shelters near you, and give information on some of the animals available for adoption.
