I work at a vet clinic and the reason dog's breath smells is because of poor oral hygiene. The best thing to do is to have his or her teeth cleaned by your vet and then ask them if they have either a product called OraVet or if they have any mouth rinses. OraVet is a product that you apply to your pet's teeth and it forms a barrier sealant on the teeth that repels plaque and prevents build-up. Using oral rinses daily helps too. There is a product made by Virbac that is called Aquadent. It is a liquid that you put in your pet's water and it works sort of like Scope for humans. It's formulated though so that animals can swallow it and it doesn't harm them. Brushing your dog's teeth will really only benefit him or her after the teeth have been professionally cleaned. Doing it without a cleaning doesn't really do much since the tartar & plaque are already there. Hope this helps!

I haven't tried to sniff my dogs breath ever, even though I get her teeth cleaned, and brush her teeth every day. You could try giving him a milk bone in the mornings. Good luck.

Bad breath is usually related to poor diet and tooth hygeine. Some good tooth cleaning (commercial products) like dentabones are out there, but you will probably need a dental cleaning for your dog first, then use the products to maintain good breath.

Yes...
But also like humans most times it has to do with how well maintained their teeth are.
Regular brushing, greenies and trips to the vet for plaque removal might help.

Try brushing his teeth with doggie toothpaste and tooth brush which can be found at any pet store. That should help. Good luck.
