All of the above.

When I'm counseling people I look to see if they are working on growing intellectually, spiritually, physically (diet and exercise), and emotionally. They are all interlinked. Balance is what bring health.

Sometimes, an intellectual 'dope-slap' provides just what is needed to encourage someone to grow spiritually or intellectually. If you want to regard that as 'slamming'... we, I guess that is your prerogative.

depends, if I'm feeling really really REALLY insecure...slaming them makes me feel better...but I'm the person always trying to tell people that education is the most important thing, get an education, learn about life and the world, you'll be a better person for it and probably not be so judgemental because you'll have a better understanding of people and cultures.
