People are going to Hell by the second and self-proclaimed Christians are screaming "tolerate!" Are we in a spiritual war, or a spiritual buffet? Pick what you like - it's all good, right? It is more like pick your poison. If you have real compassion for others you would not keep telling them that it is alright to eat poison would you? Wake up Christians, the war isn't over yet!

2 Timothy 2:4 - No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

2 Corinthians 10:3 - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

How about "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

Our warfare is with demons and evil not with the humans that God loves and sent His son to die for. When we sing "we are precious in His sight" it's not just the members of an exclusive club called "Christians" God loves all men and "wishes that no man should perish" Paul even exhorts us to speak with "flavor of wit". He never says: browbeat people into heaven or beat them into submission. We are to "go therefore and make disciples of all nations...."

Did you come to know Jesus because someone scorned your beliefs or argued you into capitulation?

There is no command to tolerate religous beliefs that contradict the Bible. If you call yourself a Christian, you are to follow the "doctrine of Christ," given to Apostles by Jesus Christ himself to preach to the whole world (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16). The bible tells us that we should all be speaking the same thing and that there should be no division among us (1 Corinthians :10-13). Everyone wants to believe that they could have unity in diversity, that is believing different things, worshipping in different ways, though still claiming to serve the same God, but the Bible warns us about preaching another gospel other than that which the apostles preached (Galatians 1:6-9).The Constitution may advocate tolerance, but it's not the The Constitution that's going to judge you in the last day. Think about it.

Brother, I agree with you, but hold back your anger, please!

2 Timothy 4 forewarns us:

"1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."

Note Paul's instruction in verse 5: YOU be watchful and endure and evangelize. Do not act as if today's sinful behavior is a surprise. Didn't our Lord tell us this would happen?

The Master pointed out that the workers deserved their food in return for such labors of love. If the people did not appreciate what was being given to them and would not listen to the Word, then the apostles were instructed to move on to another city. If a minister of God was unwelcome in a house, he was to leave that house; or if he was unwelcome in a city, he was to shake the dust off his feet and to go on. Jesus did not instruct the apostles to force the good news of the Kingdom upon the people. The individuals hearing the message had to decide whether they wished to accept it or to rebel against it. Likewise today, if they rebel, why spoil your own happiness by staying? It is best to leave the unfriendly people.(Matthew 10:11-15)

I cannot UnBlind a Lost Person's Soul.
I can only Plant Seed's in that Soul so GOD can UnBlind them and give them a Chance to Get SAVED.
Other than that, they have the Right to Believe what they want to, long as they OBEY the LAW's of the Land.
If they Don't Believe in GOD (are SAVED) there agonna Believe in Something!
Your Believing Something, all of the Time unless your in a Coma.

Now, you can Pray for a Person's Salvation and Believe that he,she is agonna get SAVED. But GOD know's the Time and Only GOD can Unblind them.
Some Plant and Some Harvest.
Hope this helps.
Ditto.

I was curious about your other questions because I just answered the one about preachers yelling at Christians....

The Bible does not say to tolerate other religions. It says Christ is the ONLY way! That's why people get mad at me here when I speak the Truth. I know there is an absolute truth and I'm not afraid to say it.

I do it in the real world too, where I live. That is harder though...

Your right!

Jesus said specifically, "I am the way, the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to the Father but by me." Watered down Gospels and prosperity messages need to go.

Look at the example of the early Church up until the time of Constantine. Many. many heresies began to show themselves. And what did the Christian faithful do? They were willing to be brutally tortured and/or martyred for what they believed, which is the truth. Many writings from the church fathers still remain which tell us that they weren't "tolerant" of false believes. We can all learn from the lives and witness of the early church fathers.

First of all, I hope I'm overstanding you correctly - if not, please forgive me for my error. While I can respect your point of view, and it is your right (gift) from The Creator to exercise it, when you allow yourself to be boxed-in amongst an infinite reality - The Creator is infinite wouldn't you agree? - you limit the powers that we as smaller creations are/were endowed with. In my opinion, that's what Jesus "meant" when he said "...ye are all gods" [sic - maybe not verbatim]. Having said that, if the Bible is what you go by - great!, but understand it is not the end-all (only) spiritual text for peoples of the world...if it were, the concept of All, Infiniteness, Oneness would go out the window. Peace.

Being human, to me, seems to be about the ability to reason. The gift of reason allows humans to move beyond the commandments of others, into autonomy.

Tolerance isn't about agreeing or supporting or converting. The dictionary defines it as having sympathy or empathy for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with ones own.

Tolerance is the only way to end this war you seem bent on participating in. Use your God-Given ability to reason. Think for yourself. Be more Human.

Please.

Everyone is going to go about their lives.
There will be religious wars and fights.
There will be whatever.
The inner belief is what is going to get you there.
Everone seems to be forgetting it is God who chooses.
It is God who makes the call.
It isn't man who does it.
I have heard the preaching every way you can think of.
All the pastors are up there going at it.
One says one thing, the other say the opposite.
Then there is the one who says one thing in one sentence and the opposite in the next sentence.

The thing I came to is this:

Rom 9:16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.
Rom 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH."
Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

Tough saying isn't it????
