Be careful....all of the points that the others have made are right (eye brows stuff etc...) but also your highlights could be a problem. I have a friend who had waist length light brown hair with highlights..she dyed it black, and where the highlights were turned green! so I would suggest talking to a hair dresser, you don't have to get it done there, but make an appointment just to check it out first. Luckily she didn't mind having green steaks...but if thats not the look your going for, be careful.

My natural hair color is brown. I guess you can't really tell in my avatar but I was brown with blonde highlights and then I dyed my hair black.
I like the look but I definitely wish I kept on using washout one's. It's SOOO hard to get black dye out of your hair and it'll ruin it. Now I either have to grow it out or chance ruining it.
So I definitely think you should try a washout dye before you go permanant.

I think it'll work fine as long as u buy the darkest black u can find...jet black. Black's a dominant color, so I don't think it'll blend with ur hair color and come out a different color. I'm trying to go the other way...and it's not easy to go from dark to light colored hair...but it should be easier for u.

I think it really depends.
Look at your eyebrows (stupid, but hang in there). If they are dark enough, you can go black without worryign ti will look stupid. I coudl never do it, as I have red hair, and my eyeborws are far to light.
It is a dramatic change, but if the rest of your facial hair (not liek a beard. Eyebrows and eyelashes) is dark enough, you can pull it off.
You can always put on black mascara and pencil your eyebrows, but I find penciling your eyebrows more hassle than it worth.

This might sound silly, but go to a beauty supply that sells wigs, or hair pieces, and try one on and see how the color looks on you.
Then, if you like it..... be really carefull dying over your highlights, they could look greenish, or grayish, you may want to fill it in with a red color first........
MAKE SURE you like it, BC if you do it and don't...... it will be SOOOO hard, to go back if it is possible at all, depends on your hair.

you should try color pulse, just to see if you like your hair black. What color pulse is it's a color concentrated mosse ( it's like hair die, but the stuff will come out in a few washes, like 8-10) but be carefule, it will still satain your clothes and things like regular hair die does. But your hair might not go back to the same color after it washes out, but it will be close. i would say try color pulse, and if you don't like your hair black, then let it wash out..
good luch, i'm sure you'll look amazing in whatever you do!

Go to a wig shop and ask to put on a black wig. You can get an idea of what yo uwill look like this way. Go with what YOU want, and not the rest of the world.

Well ther are many types of black dyes. Most are usually black with this blue base. Thus you need to be of a winter skin tone, whereby you suit dark, wintery colours. If you have a warm skin tone, this pinkish hue to your skin...use black with brown base. It still looks black but with very slight brown.
