Have you ever heard of stereotyping. I thought liberals were against it?

A better question would be why is the overall group of neoconservative, Republican-Christians intolerant?
There are many good, open minded conservatives. It's just the net result of their group philosophy comes off as intolerant.
There are many intolerant liberals too. The extremes of either side are ridiculous.

I thought "neoconservative" was an old lable for former Democrat Jews that realized the Democrat party hated Israel.
But, to answer the gist of your question, as a former Democrat, look at the above answers and ask who's intolerant?
Then go to the ACLU website and read their version of religious "freedom." The only book in danger of being burned at your local library is the Bible.
Why are you intolerant of using tax dollars to send poor kids to posh private schools? As a former student at an inner city school, I'd like to know.

Intolerance comes from jealously and fear. The NeoCon Christians are just envious and scared. In truth they are children afraid that everyone is having fun, except them. Instead of rejoicing in the salvation that is freely given, they act as if they were under the burden of the universal injunction: No fun allowed. They think heaven is somewhere you go, something you earn, when in truth (and in Christ) the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (reach out and touch it). You won’t change intolerance with intellectual arguments, you change things by setting an example.

Maybe because of the name calling like "Neoconservative Republicans Christians." Did it register?

Republicans and Christians are not the same thing.
As a Christian I say...I am intolerant of Sin. If you are sinning and you are my friend or even if you are not i hope i tell you. For the fact of the matter is the bible says what is right and what is wrong...all you have to do is read it, and while it is true that Jesus forgives all sin...you still have to ask for forgiveness.
i wouldn't call my self a Republican so i won't answer that part.

Because both neoconservatives and Christians want everyone to be just like them. They want others to act, think, talk, and look just the same as they do.

For the same reason that Nazis, Klansmen, and the Taliban are intolerant of others. They preach a philosophy which at its core is nothing more than a philosophy of hate.

They can't help it. Their myopic worldview doesn't allow tolerance of others that don't think in lock-step with them. Turn the other cheek? Hah!
