Piracy wont go down. The companies nowadays are too cheap and just want to make money not quality products, they need to lower prices if they want people to buy a legal copy. Who in the world is sane when buying a DVD for $20+ or a software for $200+ which they will use for at most 2-5 years and is useless in a year. open source for me unless the software is free with my pc.

I think piracy will continue no matter what. But with the plethera of freeware and open source programs out there (which are comparable to the expensive programs), there is really no need to pirate anything anymore.
