No. Since it is not an organic disease. It is not curable but managable. There are new medications out there for severe case which your doctor can prescribe but I suggest you try Alternate therapies such as Accupuncture and diet modification and stress reduction as the side efects of western medications can mimic symptoms similar to IBS.

As long as you stick to your recommended diet and take your meds, it should keep the symptoms away. I suffer from it and I have trouble staying away from the things I'm not supposed to be eating or drinking. My stomach swells up like I'm about 7 months pregnant. Stress also plays a BIG factor in it!

Unfortunately,it's not curable, and my docs told me it was just something I'd have to learn to live with. 4 years later, and I'm still looking for answers. I drink a lot of water and stay away from foods that upset my stomach, which is just about everything I eat.Meds didn't work for me,but that doesn't mean they won't work for you. I also drink Boost with Benefiber every day,and eat Activia yogurt every day.

Yes you can fix it (not cure it).

Read the H.O.P.E. formula by Dr. Watson. This was aired on PBS just a couple of days ago, it was extremely interesting.

It is treatable. A good treatment is less of a problem than untreated. Diet is part of the treatment. How much are you willing to change your diet?
