How about offering some kind of cookery course?
Perhaps you can set aside a night in which paying people can come in and learn how to make some of the food on the menu, or other dishes if you prefer.
Then you can all sit down afterwards and sample the creations with some drinks and really make it like a social learning experience.
I'd certainly be up for doing something like that if it was local to me.
It'd make a great gift for somebody who is interested in cooking too.
Perhaps you could do one night for beginners, one for intermediate and one for advanced.
You never know you may even discover a cooking gem !!!!

My local restaurant does taster nights on a tuesday. They charge £10 a head and you get small partions of all the main courses. Its a great way of finding out if you like something on the menu and you don't waste money ordering it to find you don't like it. You get 4 meals from the menu and its always busy. The chef uses it to introduce new ideas to the menu too.

Two for one deals. Make nights a certain food theme. Tuesday is pasta night, etc, and offer 10% off. If there is a local movie theatre, see if you can put together a dinner and a movie night, and promote each other,

Why not run some kind of tasting session? Chef gets to try out new ideas, your customers feel part of your business and you get feedback on what people do and don't like...
Or you could run some kind of cooking class- that way your customers have fun and learn the value of what your chef is delivering...

I'm not saying this'd work for a snazzy restaurant, but I once went into a pub because on their menu board, instead of having something like, 'lovely homecooked, traditional food', they'd written, 'our waiters are grumpy, our lettuce is soggy and our fried eggs have fingerprints in them. Why not come in and see how bad we really are...?'
I guess the upshot of this is that humour works! See Puccinni's for another example of humour (though less self-deprecating!)
Good luck!

Dinner specials and drink specials mid-week -- get them coming in! You know, like half off bottles of wine or half off glasses of wine. Also think about having mid week entertainment - that will draw them in too. Have fun being creative!!

Have a chocolate fountain... everybody loves those. Also what Jessica Alba says below me, mid- week entertainment as such as a grand piano player/ jazz band always draw in the customers.

Well, lets have a buy three set meals for the price of two. Or four meals for the price of three .. etc.. you are the boss, you name the price.
Or have a stamp card concept, for every tenth stamp you have, the eleventh meal is free.
Good luck !
