Yes. A head injury can surface much later after the original injury. As scar tissue builds up and/or swelling takes place you can have many symptoms resulting from that trauma. You should have a good doctor check you out just to rule out any severe problems which could affect you later on. Good luck.

It will most probably NOT surface again,.. some doctors prefer to give antiepileptics to cover for scar epilepsy .

Many studies suggest that its not helpful,..

anyway chances are very small and no need to worry about it.

Just to address your any other concern, If u have come out of the injury there is NO CHANCE OF IT HAVING ANY OTHER AFTER-EFFECT EXCEPT THE SCAR EPILEPSY THING

Yes head injuries always surface after years with a serious illness like paralysis or mental disbility.

With regard to epilepsy due to a brain injury:

A person might not have any symptoms at all with regard to epilepsy after a brain injury.

But, later there are factors which lower the threshold of excitation needed to cause abnormal brain electrical activity.

For example, alcohol when it is in the body has an anticonvulsant effect, but after it has cleared the body the brain cells require a much lower stimulus to provoke a convulsion.

caffeine and many of the anti psychotic drugs lower the threshold of excitation needed to cause a epileptic attack. Therefore any of these drugs can unmask the effects of a brain injury.

Note also that flashing lights and rapidly changing picture images are known to stimulate brain injured people to epileptic attacks.

Yes! It can. If you let a head injury go untreated, the symptoms may go away soon, but there may be a problem that may only be found through testing by your doctor or mri scans.
