1 mile in 15 minutes = 4mph. So, if you have the treadmill set to 3.2 mph, there is no way you can do a mile in 15 minutes.

Now, if the problem is that at 4mph you are getting burned out too fast, you also might make sure that your treadmill isn't set for an incline.

1 mile every day is definately NOT too much. It's not enough. What you need to do is start practicing running by doing 2-3 miles three times a week. Try to complete a 2 mile run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then, start trying for three miles. When that gets easy, get up to four miles. The trick is to make the time last over 20 minutes and to do it 3 or 4 times per week. You'll get into shape in no time. Good lucK!

Tread-mills are unnatural and it's hard to Gage your "normal" speed on a tread. For example if you are walking outside your at not going the same speed every second of your 15minute walk. Sometimes you speed up, sometimes you slow down.

Here is a tip, to get a more natural feel and burn slightly more calories, put the tread-mill on a 1 percent incline.

Hope that helps

Maybe you're just bored. Personally, I hate treadmills. It's much nicer to take a jog around the neighborhood.

I'm with Sammy and peachy - you are probably bored on the treadmill. I much rather walk/run outside.

my guess is because a treadmill sets your pace. and i tend to run faster on ground than a treadmill because i can physically see the end, and it motivates me to move faster, haha.

i agree with "sammie"
walking on a tredmill is terrible, unless you are watching tv or reading.
