Cause.

edit: That was more abrasive than I like to be. My problem is when the religious among us start believing in Intelligent Design and disbelieving in the obvious need for equal civil liberties to homosexuals (Marriage & Military). I am astounded when pharmacy workers refuse to fill birth control perscriptions based on their religious beliefs and not concern over the patron's health. When religion gets in the way of how things should logically run.

There we go again. Blaming others for our shortcommings. As I recall the Man offered teachings of a righteous, just, and peacefull way of life. You now ask if he's the cause or solution to America's problems? Isn't time you questioned whether the interpretation of his teachings have been the correct ones? NO HE IS NOT THE CAUSE NOR THE SOLUTION. He offered guidelines. Look for the best solutions to America's problems in these.teachings.

There can and should be no sectarian solution to the problems in America. Belief is irrelevant and should be so if we are truly to have separation of church and state. Right now due to various moral and sociological issues, religion is taking a larger roll than it should. The religious practices of all Americans are very personal things, and have no place being co-mingled with politics. For the moment because they detract us from issues that have far more importance, they are part of the problem, if they cause more divisions within the U.S. I am not a believer, however it is my duty as an American to fight to the death for your right to believe as you like. That courtesy however, is rarely extended to me as well by the so called "Christian majority". Any organization that seeks to restrict my rights, in favor of their doctrine is doing not only myself, but America a dis-service.

Anyone one who argues that America follows Jesus hasn't read a single thing relating to what Christ taught. America is probably one of the most non-Christian nations even though the majority of Americans claim to be Christ followers. We are one of the richest countries in the world that actually does the least charity for our own people. If everyone started just practicing what Jesus told us to practice, this whole planet would be a better place.

all religions have out lived their usefulness--they may have served their purpose at one time--back when people thought the earth was flat--problem or solution--through out history more people have died in the name of god, what ever god, than anything else--i guess that makes it a solution for population control

the reason ppl are thinking he is the cause is because they dont have faith...they believe that God will bless them but they dont do anything...God does his part and you should do yours which is helping others and to follow his christian rules...

The more ppl dont have faith...the more problems there will be...do you want a world like that?...at least do something for the world...give left-over food to the homeless or donate to the orphanages in your town...do you want others to suffer? or will you just be selfish like everyone else?
