Depends what you do rest of the day and if you exercise. If you're gonna have a heavy meal later then maybe it is too much. But if you've done some exercise this week you might get away with it! How about a nice jacket potato instead?

Caloric intake is relative. Mattering on what you do on a normal day 500 calaries can be good or bad.
If you are really active, walk to work, move boxes, talk a lot, type a lot 500 calories isn't a bad thing. If you don't do anything but come onto Yahoo! Answers and ask if you are eatting too much and don't eat anythign else the rest of the day so are starving yourself. And you will be dead while waiting for answers.
Also you want to look at what you normally take in on a single day. If you eat 3 of those stomboli every lunch and you are not over weight then you are using those calories ever day so by having only one you are depriving yourself of those calories and thusly will lose weight. If you normally don't eat breakfast or lunch and you decide to pig out on day you will gain a lot of weight really fast beacause you body would be storing the extra stuff that you normally would not be eatting.
It is more about knowing yourself and eatting balanced then counting calories and trying to hit 2000 a day. If you wanted to think about it. 500/2000 = 1/4 if you have 4 meals of 500 calories then you will hit that 2000 that is the "average" person. But did you get enough of your carbs, proteins, and fats for the day? You have to ask yourself that and not just focus on a single lunch's calroic intake.
.... I want a stromboli now ( ._.)

A stromboli has to have more than 500 calories. Not to mention the Fat and Carbs in it! They are one of the top worst 5 things you could eat. Right around Doughnuts and Funnel cakes.

No, not at all. Lunch should be your biggest meal. Breakfast should be the most nutritious, in order to get your brain going. You should try to keep it light at dinner. But that stromboli pepperoni sounds yummy!

No, but that seems low a stromboli. This assumes that you are on 2000/2500 per day diet which is what they FDA recamends.

You need to look at the whole day..not just one meal. Regardless of that...they need to be healthy meals. A stromboli is loaded with fat.
