Imagine for a minute that you are a railroad engineer. Every day you have to wait a switch point and switch the tracks so the train doesn't crash. One day your only child comes to work with you, and plays near the gears that switch the tracks. All of a sudden your child falls into the gears. Just as you rush to save your child, you hear the whistle of the approaching train loaded with lots of people. You do not have time to save your child and switch the tracks. If you switch the tracks now your child will be killed. If you don't switch the tracks now all the people on the train will be killed.
What do you do?

You love your child very much. You would be willing to die for the child but you cannot.

I think as a mother I would try to save my child first without question, but while praying for him I'd pray for god to rescue people on the train and hope that they are praying as well.

I've heard that story before, the story goes that the father sacrifices his son to save the people on the train, and I think that's the right answer. It's heartbreaking, but it's right.

best wishes

(With all my due respect to fellow Christians):

If this example implies on God and Jesus, i would say that God doesn't need a man as an example to explain his condition. God is all power and he created man. So in other terms, i believe that God doesn't need to sacrifice his "son" for people or sacrifice people for his "son." He's almighty and never faces any dilemmas or needs any sort of help.

Ask God to save them both - train and my son. And then move in the first direction I am prompted to after that quick consultation with God. His will not mine.

Well, for one thing I would never bring my child to work and subject them to a dangerous situation. You obviously have alot to learn about parenting.

Why Ask? If he's your son you'd risk your own life for his.. Don't even say you wouldn't, because that's a total no brain er.
