No, definitely not because it's contraception wich is condemned not only by the pope but also thoughout all of christan history, it's also condemned in the bible.
Someone said this had to do with canon law, it has not, it has to do with natural law ie the way God created things, this JP2 makes very clear in his encyclical Veritatis Splendor, and as such it cannot change no matter who will be pope in the future.
BTW this pill could kill an already concieved child so it could be abortion as well.
And fyi I'm a physician and a catholic.

The phrase "a good Catholic" leads to a lot of judgement. I'm not fond of it. A person who supports the Plan B pill is not in line with Catholic teaching.
According to Catholic teaching, life begins at the very moment that a sperm penetrates an egg and the two sets of DNA meet to form the DNA of a human being. Anything that actively prevents that meeting of DNA from moving forward with life is considered an abortive measure.

--Is Catholic--
No. Plan B, as stated by the physician above works by aborting the embryonic person. Anyone who used Plan B is attempting to murder their child. This is gravely immoral. In fact, this is not a part of the Catholic Faith. This is a part of common natural reason that the murdering of a child is wrong and evil. Anybody who supports Plan B and the like has a warped sense of morality and cannot be a "good Catholic" let alone a good person.

Im not sure its possible to be a good catholic.
Im sure that if you asked that question to the head of your church you would get the answer you are looking for.
any time you are in conflict with the doctrine and opinion of your church, its probably safe to say that no, you cant be a good catholic, because you dont agree with what is preached to you about abortion, or the plan b pill.
the next thing to think about is if thats really a bad thing or not. I mean, is it a bad thing you dont agree with part of the catholic opinion? No, i think not, and i also think that just because your church says its right doesnt mean that it is.
Look at what else has recently happened in the catholic chuch, with the priests and the little children. I feel bad for you. I would never feel safe in a church that clearly breeds hypocrisy, and has obviously strayed very far from the path of god and its on the path of corruption.
seriously you should really be questioning your beliefs and whether they match up with the catholic religion, im glad you asked this question. you should care about what your religion believes and whether its wrong or right, etc etc, and whether you can live supporting it.
this all probably sounds very harsh but i couldnt support the church i was going to with the beliefs that they had, and i would rather be unassociated with a church than be associated with one that i didnt believe in. you know?

Plan B terminates the existence of fertilized embryos, which is the equivalent of an early term abortion.
No Catholic can support PLAN B and remain in communion with the God and the Catholic church.

Yes you can. The plain B pill is just another form of birth control. You use it the day after you have had intercourse without protection. Which is a stupid thing to began with. Some people can't help that though. For example a woman who was raped. At that point the fetus has not even formed yet. It's just a egg with a sperm in it trying to get grounded in the uterus so it can get started. I'd rather people use a pill to make sure the body releases that egg naturally than to have a live fetus ripped out of the uterus. It's a better solution.

A good Catholic? Probably not. A good person? Certainly.
If you are a Catholic and thought to ask this question, perhaps you should consider abstinence or another alternative to the PLAN B pill.
But the fact that you ask this question proves you have given the matter some thought. That's good, but remember that the original goal of all sex is to have children. There's a definite cause and effect chain there :-).
Above all, don't make impulsive decisions that could ruin your health, your life, or your soul. Good luck and God bless.

If you have chosen to be a catholic, then be a good catholic and become a better one. If you wanna be a bitter buddhist, be a good buddhist and become a better one.
Take your time debating which one you wanna chose, then having chosen that path, stick to it with firm conviction. What this essentially means is be really sure its catholicism is you want?
There are organized philosiophies out there which embrace all religions and see God as One (which you may want to explore alternatively).

Absolutely not. The "morning after pill" is even worse than other forms of artificial birth control -- that's because it's quite possibly an abortion agent, not a means of preventing conception.
So, in a way, supporting this pill over typical birth-control pills is even worse, from a Catholic moral standpoint.
No offense to Sam, but pay no attention to her answer. It's flat-out wrong.
