I have had my cat Toby for 7 years now and just lately he has been stuck to me like glue! When I sleep he sleeps on me the entire night...right on my hip, if I turn over he gets up on the other hip, or on my chest or on my back. Wherever I go in the house he is there either sitting on me or beside me or waiting for me in the kitchen to finish cooking, if I am in the shower he sits outside the shower and meows, if I am in the bathroom and shut him out he paws and meows at the door till I let him in, ever hear of a cat acting like this. It's like he can't stand to be without me!!

Also I do have two other cats in the house but Toby is the only one that does this. Percy is 8 years old and he is a loner, just lays out on the patio all day in the sun and Vader he is our baby he is only 1 1/2 years old and he reaks havoc on everyone, he loves to sit on my bedside table at 4:30 in the morning cause he wants his breakfast and he kicks my stuff onto the floor until I get up, I had to put my eyeglasses in the drawer to keep from stepping on them. Toby is just glued to me...maybe its just cause he is getting old. I do love him tho and don't mind him most of the time being on me. I am about to get one of those baby slings to strap him to the front of me...LOL!

I've had the same thing and still do with my cat. Peppy started out with meowing alllll the time ... especially in the morning when he was hungry. Sometimes I would try to ignore it when I was getting ready for work, but I finally gave in when I couldn't take it anymore. He would always be under my feet or on top of me while I slept. My Vet said it wasn't anything to worry about cause he was healthy. It was just an "attention getter" Cats form habits just like humans ... he started meowing to get what he wanted and smacked my leg when he was hungry .... now he just does it for the hell of it. Feline's are odd creatures. So, what has calmed him down is I've given him play time in the afternoons ... just to get his "attention fix". Once that's done ... he goes on his way and sleeps/eats/whatever he wants to do. It'll be fine though. But if you are still concerned, please contact your vet.

All three of Our Cats are rescued. Callie, our girl, was hit by a car, and We didn't think She would make it. They operated on Her, and She died twice on the table, but it was God's Will, and after a long vet stay, She made it. When She came home You couldn't pry Her off of Me. I had to sleep on the couch forever, so We didn't bother My Husband. He loves our Cats, but He also needs His rest.
Then we caught, and tamed, two brothers. Just weened from Their Mom. They hated everything at first. But over time they came to think of Me as their Mom. When I am gone they hide, for days, but You can hear the One crying out loud, over the phone, when I call. When I get back home, I call for them, and here they come. They sleep in our room, on the bed. My little boy, will sit on the side of the tub while I shower, waiting, He has even tried coming in a few times, water doesn't bother Him. I can't even walk sometimes without going very slowly and sliding Little Bit along with Me.
Toby is just crazy about You, and feels very secure with You.
Callie used to sleep on Me, and still does some, and She is not so little anymore, and it can be difficult sleeping like that. I just gently move Her, when I need to turn over, and soon She is back.
I guess it is like a snoring Husband, it drives You crazy, until one day You no longer get to hear it.
God Bless

You would hate living in my house. I have a train following me everywhere. My 6 year old female cat, a 18 week old kitten and my pom. My mom's cats all do the same thing. You have to realize their day begins and ends with you. It's actually really cute and comforting once you get past the claustiphobia of her sleeping on you.

Hello, This isn't unusual. Your cat is just showing you how much she loves you, and appreciates your love and attention for her! She is a kitten, and it is likely that as she grows older she'll become more independent and leave you alone more often (and you'll probably start to miss it). For now, just accept all the love and attention she's giving you. Tons of cat owners would love for their cats to be this affectionate. Good luck! :)

He is getting a little old, but as they get older their personalities change. Have you noticed any pain in walking, or trouble seeing or hearing? As cats get older and sicker some of them become more dependent on their people. You may ask the vet at the next check up. Has he been scared by anything? Moved furniture?
I'm not kidding, once we got rid of a chair and a cat sulked for weeks.

It could be Toby is trying to tell you something isn't right. My older male cat used to be more affectionate when he wasn't feeling well. However, my 4 year old female likes to follow me into the bathroom (she drinks out of the shower), waits for me to go to bed the stays at the foot of the bed util I get up. She doesn't like to sit in my lap, but will drink my ice water if I set it down on the coffee table.

Your cat must love you very much. Most cats don't like to be with their owners 24/7. You must be a very good mommy and he just wants to be with you.

I'm dealing with the same thing. I am to blame though. I took him to bed with me and carried him around while he was very little. Now I can't get rid of him. He does understand to stay away from me when I'm eating now though... lol.

Well it sounds like your cat has gotten older and decided to be a lap cat. Lots of cats, when they get older will become more dependent, and loving, not all but some. Kitty just loves you and wants the added attention.
