I'm a Civil Engineer in the government sector and I absolutely love my job. My main focus is transportation and there is nothing better than seeing something that you helped design and build being used by the general public. It is a very fulfilling feeling when you can drive on an Interstate and say "I am responsible for this." There is always something to do and it's one of those professions where you can do the same thing every single day, but you will never complete the project the same way in any of those days. The private sector is pretty cut throat and isn't worth the hassle in my opinion. While it is possible to make more money in the private sector, you have to kiss alot of @$$ to do get that money. If you work for the government you won't want to do anything else.

When the civil engineer has established CIVILization then the other engineers, professionals etc. move in, while he moves off to another jungle to establish another CIVILized place.

No really!!!! there are so many specializations in Civil engineering it all depends on which branch of civil engineering you go in for, but it is exciting. The above would describe briefly life of a civil engineer working on industrial construction sites.

I am a civil engineer in the public sector. My duties cover a wide range of areas, including basic design, estimating, troubleshooting during construction, contract administration, public relations, and office management. My daily work agenda is rarely predictable, as I have a constant flow of work which includes multiple projects in the planning, construction, and post-construction phases. I have a small technical staff under my direction and constantly collaborate with other public agencies and private contractors, as well as the media and the general public. I spend a large portion of my time on construction sites meeting with inspectors and contractors and reviewing work progress.

That's my "life" as a civil engineer in a nutshell.

i imagine you spoke back your own question, once you reported "i do not want to artwork". you basically get one existence, so do not waste it doing belongings you don't desire to do. If what you want is "vacationing the international and experiencing issues" then bypass for it. in case you get drained of that once a lengthy time period (and also you likely will, after some months) then you may settle down and commence college. 30 hours artwork a week isn't a large deal, as long as you're easily taking section in those 30 hours. It nevertheless leaves you 138 hours a week to do regardless of else you want. yet i'm no longer listening to any message that you easily want to be a civil engineer. Take a at the same time as and workout habitual what you DO want to do previously you get dedicated to it.
