Don't worry Pancha. It's easy to spread hate when you are sitting behind a computer. Thank god they would never come out from behind their anonymity to back up the crap they spew. Two more years, Pancha. Don't ever stop fighting the good fight. We need you. You make me proud to be an American, and proud to have my voice.

Why's that, Pancha? I think the basic object of even having this conversation is to a) identify some problems, and b) hear other people's views on them, and c) figure out what in the hell ought to be done about it, if you're ashamed to be an american after having a free and open debate, maybe there is a problem. Free speech means you'll hear things from time to time that you flat-out don't agree with, but at the end of the day, would you rather know or NOT know what others think? Personally, I'd rather hear their side of it, even if I'm pretty sure from the outset that I probably won't like it. I also like the fact that I can state my OWN views and others will hear me, too. But, again, if any of that makes you ashamed to be an american, not sure what to say, there....

on a site where MILLIONS of people log on everyday, you are bound to see the same views expressed MILLIONS of times, and you choose what you see and what you don't see. It's a matter of perception, and also a matter of rabble rousers voicing their complaints louder and more frequently than those who just go on about their daily business. On this site in particular, I've noticed that a lot of those who get people's dander up have very similar names. Might they be the same person, or group of people, who get kicked off repeatedly for their antics, and just come back under another name to cause more problems? And doesn't this tell you something? More people on this site are of good nature because they report those who aren't.

That wouldn't be good for anyone. Don't ever give up. What has everyone done to make you feel this way? If you took a step back and really wanted to understand, then you could get a better understanding of "what's" making you so upset. Whatever it may be, think of one reason "in favor" of it. You've obviously spent a lot of energy thinking of reasons "not" to do something. Take a few moments, think of how you would build an argument, opposite of your opinion. Even if you don't agree with it, you'll at least gain some perspective and understanding of both sides.
Being American is not as simple as it sounds. It's now more complicated than ever with all the people coming into the US, that don't want to be American. America is one of, possibly the most diverse country in the World. I love the diversity in the US, but the one thing we all have in common is, being American. Our diversity has accomplished more good than bad, but if you only allow yourself to see the bad, you'll never see the good. For instance, there was a span of time, in our extremely short history, in which half the country Didn't own slaves and half did. The side that disagreed with owning slaves, felt strongly enough they went to war with people who looked just them. More Americans died in the US Civil War, than any other. Northern whites under Republican President Abe Lincoln, fought Southern Whites(mostly all Democrats) over Right and wrong. Those "whites, blacks etc who believed in Freedom defeated those "whites, possibly some blacks" believing in slavery. Being "white" in the US today(North or South), you're more likely to be considered a descendant of a former "white" slave owner, than a descendant of a former "white" abolitionist??? Are you kidding me, Abolitionists won the war and are now lumped in with slave owners? Even worse, the people looking them straight in the eyes and telling illegal immigrants to leave, are racists. While the people standing next to them, whispering in their ears, "we will help you stay and keep you in your job", are considered compassionate. Republicans(fighting for freedom) are looking illegals in the eye and saying "the best thing for you and me would be to go back, if you want to return, do it the legal way" this is being honest. Democrats(using the argument "illegals keep fruit prices low" the same argument former slave owners used to justify slavery, "to keep the price of cotton low) are telling illegals(illegal Mexicans) "We will help you stay in America and Make Sure you keep your job... your $7hr dead end job". Oh, very compassionate.
On Feb. 3, 2005, Gonzales, 49, was confirmed by the Senate to succeed John Ashcroft as attorney general. Despite Democratic complaints that he helped construct questionable U.S. policies on the treatment of foreign prisoners and evaded questions having to do with the war on terror, the Senate confirmed him with a 60-36 vote.

During his confirmation hearings, Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats stood unexpectedly united in their opposition to Gonzales, with all eight Judiciary Democrats opposing the nominee. The same Democrats. The same compassion???

I do agree that with the Leftist in the U.S., such as Senators Friske, McCain, and many others and such trash as Cindy Sheehan, it is shameful to say you are an American when these terrorist assistants are allowed to roam the streets instead of being shot. I also am ashamed of what is going on here and it is all because of TOOOOOOOOOOO much freedom or is it just the gross MISUSE of it?

LOL! no, don't kill yourself just kill off ur Avatar & that might make u feel better.
it disgusts me too, to see how many ignorant & even some educated Americans r on here bashing ppl for being of a certain ethnicity. it apalls me to see Americans play the blame game w/ppl who may not even b able to defend themselves. the hate & logical thinking of these ppl make me realize what is to become of the next generations.
but at the end of the day i know what i am & i know what i believe. i will not try to change anyone's mind, but i am willing to talk/share my opinions & the facts that i know with anyone no matter what ethnicity, education, or economic background they have.& i am also willing to listen from an opposing side for that matter. But believe me i don't lose any sleep at night! Duermo con la consciencia limpia!
