More than anything? She would like a professional photo done of just you and her.

How about getting some nice pretty paper, cutting it into 50 pieces and on each piece write a reason why you love her or what she means to you, put them all in a pretty wooden box tided up with a ribbon, its something she will treasure for ever, words mean so much more than pressies sometimes, that should only work out at about ten to fifteen pound, you could either buy her a bottle of her favourite perfume, a large bunch of flowers and a good bottle of wine or champers, or maybe book her a nice beauty treatment in a salon, hope she has a lovely party and birthday, good luck.

Personalized gifts always seem to mean to most to moms, especially when you don't have a lot of cash. For example, for Mother's Day I was broker than broke so what I did was this. I purchased a nice carry bag that had spaces in the front that you could put photos in. I printed pictures of all the grandbabies off my computer and then had the bag embroidered with "World's Greatest Grandma" on it. The bag cost like $9.99 and embroidery was free cause I ordered it online from a catalog. I bought a really nice gift bag and paper from Walmart for like$3.00. She loved it and takes it every where. And usually for her birthday I buy her a nice night gown because she never buys them for herself and sleeps in these awful raggedy t-shirts. Just get her something that will mean a lot because it came from your heart. Mostly moms just want to be remembered on their special days.

The love you give her will mean more to her than money can buy. Not knowing your Mums likes and dislikes makes it very hard to suggest a fitting present. Something she loves but would never buy herself. What about afternoon tea at the Ritz is about £30 per person.

What about a days pampering at a Health Spa. Somewhere where your mum can unwind, swim, have a sauna, have a massage etc, something that benefits just her. My daughter did this for me on my 50th and it was nice to have ME-TIME for a change.

Well I am not your mum but speaking for myself who is older than 50 I always tell my kids I don't need anything so long as we have all got each other the love of your family is more important than material things but it would still be nice just to receive a little gift just to prove you haven't forgotten

well, sometimes gifts arent everything, they make you happy for a couple of hours but not for much longer, unless its sumthng great!

shes 50, and a woman her age would value your company more than a gift. i would suggest that you get a big card and write her something special, tell her wat she means to you, how much you love her and that shes the most precious thing etc etc give her that with a bouquette of her fav flowers. first of all this is so cheap, and it will mean so much more than a present!

second, Either:

1. give her a special treat!!...go to a beauty salon and buy one of them full packages where they do the nails, pedicure, manicure, face etc etc, book an appoitment. then surprise her she'l feel special, and even more special when she comes out!

or

2. buy her something you know she wil love..am sure u'l have an idea!

3. take her out for a big meal, followed with a desert!

happy birthday 2 her! :)

Does your mum have any particular interests...gardening ? computers? make up? jewellery? Do you have any idea what she would like...I bought my mother a new watch for her 50th and she loved it. It is lasting and a constant reminder that you love her. Perhaps your mum likes something else, find out or you would probably know, make it special for her, not a new iron!!

Pictures are always good. If you are able to get a pictures of her when she was younger and blow them up to a 5”x7” and put it in a beautiful frame she would like that. That is what my mother did for my grand mother. When she saw the picture of herself when she was younger it brought back memories and you should’ve seen the smile on her face. Or you can get a picture of her brothers and sister (if she has any) when they were younger. But they all must be in that one picture. I’m sure she would love it.

Your love is all she will really want, a card showing your sentiments.
What ever you buy will be an extra present and it will not matter how small or cheep it was.
Mother's like father's look for more than material things from their children. The card my eldest made for me in her infants I still treasure "she is 35 now"
