I recently bought a few crystals to "try it out". (Clear quartz, black tourmaline, angelite, and amethyst). Before I invest in more crystals, I would like to know more about this topic. Does anyone out there use crystals themselves and have knowledge to share? If so, that would be much appreciated.

I have heard stories on both sides of the issue: that is, some say it is a hoax, while others do not.

I would like to become more educated on this.

Yes, it can work. Some stones are easy for me to work with while others aren't. I definitely agree with the recommendation of the book "Love is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals" by Melody. It is an excellent resource; it's my very favorite. I've used crystals and stones for healing, rituals, scrying, directing energy, and for grounding and balance.

When I first heard about using stones, I was neutral but I thought it was a bit odd. I remember telling one of my friends, "My boyfriend carries rocks in his pocket!". Then one day I was driving on the outskirts of town and I saw this little sign about rocks so I stopped out of curiosity. It was a small "store" in a house that an older woman had of the stones she had collected. I looked at them and she asked what I was looking for. I told her that my boyfriend had told me to find one that felt right. She smiled and reached up to a shelf and pulled down this stone (it was mostly clear and not attractive to me) and she handed it to me. As soon as I touched it, it was like electricity flowing up my arm. I just stood there in disbelief--I was absolutely dumbfounded. It felt alive with energy--and so did I! I didn't have any money with me that day and I will never know what type of stone that was. The little shop closed over a decade ago. But that day started my journey of learning to understand and use stones in my life. Some of my stones are like old friends, some have inexplicably vanished, I have been attracted to some and others have been oddly attracted to me. Good luck in your learning and I hope that you too have an "AHA! moment".

I have used crystals and have a few myself. You have started with some good choices. I too have black tourmaline, clear quartz and amethyst, as well as zincite, moldavite, hematite and others. The best and most informative book I have found on crystals is "Love is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals" by Juliane Melody. I highly recommend it.

I have personally met an oncologist who uses quartz crystal "singing" bowls to help heal her cancer patients. She has conducted studies that show how crystal therapy has helped many of her patients go into remission.

Sounds like you started out with some goodies! I love crystals and everything about them. I use them for different things and mannnny people I know use them too. I even have a friend who didn't really believe whole heartedly in crystal therapy but he was getting migraines and put some lapis on the site of the pain and concentrated and it went away... There are many books to find out about the properties of crystals and their healing powers. I have The Crystal Bible... but there is another REALLY good one that I think is called Love is in the Earth. That one is jam packed with info. You have to find what works for you and what you believe.

It is like idol worship. Some believe and others do not. I know one thing certain. No crystal works like PRAYER.. In Bible their power was only figuratively described.

Personally it did nothing for me but the talk was interesting at the time ... the deoderant crystal is good ... the rest of it will depend on how convinced you are that it works ...

Personally, I don't believe it. I do believe there are many things we don't understand, and I also believe there could be "energies" that can aid in healing and so forth, but gems and colored candles and such seem like hokus pocus to me. Again, I can't say I *know,* but I certainly don't believe it myself.
