I actually don't have to we kinda have a babysitting co-op. All the parents we're friends with swap up babysitting for eachother and we just go back and forth. You watch mine, I'll watch yours kind of thing.
But when we did have to get a babysitter it was $5 an hour. We live in Hampton Roads, VA

The going rate for daycare in Kansas is $2.25 per hour if you get state assistance. Now I had to pay my babysitter on a bi-weekly plan. The check I wrote was for $180.00 ever 2 weeks for one child, and that was for four days a week and I am not getting any assistance. The only thing I can suggest is for you to call around and get an idea on what everyone charges.

We have 3 kids 8, almost 5 and almost 3. Our babysitter is a close family friend and the most he's ever charged is a 6-pack of beer. So that's what about $8 (CDN).

It depends if they are state licensed or not. I pay my $3.25 for my kids ages 6 & 3. We live in Nebraska. Definitely check their references, and check to see if they are state licensed!!
