"A few glasses" what does that mean? How big? An ordinary wine glass (not full) will hold 6 oz, If that's dry wine that means 114 calories, 3 glasses is then ~350 calories. That is significant: it represents 1 lb in 10 days that you could be losing (in addition to what you already are losing) if you stopped the wine. If the wine is sweet, there are twice as many calories as in the dry wine. If you want to lose faster, cut back on the wine, maybe only one 6-oz glass.

Wine is pretty high in calories. On the other hand, many studies have shown health benefits of drinking wine regularly. I would say, try to stick to one glass a night. Besides, if you're losing weight you're doing a great job. There is no merit to losing more faster. That just increases the likelihood that you'll gain it back. Slow weight loss is healthier.

88 calories per 5 oz glass of wine

15 calories per pound to maintain body weight of a moderately active person. Less to lose. If you include the wine in your daily intake it's fine. Never cut your calorie intake by more than 25%, to hard to stick to.
If you need help sleeping maybe you're working out at the wrong time, if you get pumped up before bed it's hard to sleep.

I asked my nutritionist the same thing. She said that I can drink 8 ounces of dry wine a day...no problem. Dry wine is good, because it has hardly any sugar, but once the body metabolizes it, it converts to sugar in the body, so too much is not good...plus, wine calories are just empty calories.

In reality alcohol does not help you to sleep.

At the beginning, yes, then no.

get a relaxant or use Tylenol p.m. on occasion if you need to.

Or the prescription medicine 'Lunesta' works well. (also do not
exercise 3 to 4 hours before bedtime.

good luck
