Spirituality is a faith of one. Religion is a social club. One of the hallmarks of religions is some feeble-minded device for dodging responsibility for our own behaviors, such as, "Jesus paid the price for our sins". Those devices appeal to people who are at lower stages of human development. As we spiritually mature, though, we come to understand the meaning and grace of accepting responsibility for our behaviors and for learning from our mistakes. As long as there are feeble-minded people who believe that only the "afterlife" matters, that we are too weak to be good on our own without fear of "fire and brimstone, and that human life is sacred only for those who abide by the "correct" rules and attend the "correct" house of the "correct" prophet, babies will be slaughtered. When babies starve or die in wars, those men responsible can sleep well knowing that they are special because they prayed in the "correct" direction of the sun that day.

Because the full value of that sacrifice has not been paid yet. There is more involved (as the first chapter of Job shows) and a time line involved as well. If you search out the understanding of that, then you could perhaps understand why God allows suffering. He does not cause it, but there is a reason he has allowed it, but it wont last much longer.
Just like when Jesus said "the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear my voice and come out" some to life and some to judgement. A timeline is involved there.

While sin has been paid for, it EFFECTS have not. Otherwise there would no longer need to any morals rules and you could do what you wanted with no penalty and nobody would be harmed by it. Rape that child - sure it won't hurt them. Murder those people - it will be fun and they will enjoy it. We all know that is ridiculous. As long as people continue to sin, there will always be "collateral damage" from their actions.
Like if a child plays ball in the house and breaks a lamp. The child can ask for and receive forgivenss for the action. But they might spend the next two months replacing the lamp from their allowance..

All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God's adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. (Rev. 12:4-9; Isa. 14:12-14; Eze. 28:12-18; Gen. 3; Rom. 1:19-32; 5:12-21; 8:19-22; Gen. 6-8; 2 Peter 3:6; 1 Cor. 4:9; Heb. 1:14.)

Jesus paid for our SINS. Not our clothes and food. There are starving people all over the world don't blame God though. Blame people like me and you that don't do anything about it. He said love your neighbor. Not sit in your own country getting fat while other people starve. Now for that baptized baby comment. I don't even know where you got that from.

Jesus also stated to love your neighbors (even your enemies) so, while you may wish to blame Jesus for the faults of man - I prefer to blame man for not listening to begin with.
There is no such thing as collateral damage. This is a term used by those doing to killing to justify death. In the end, it is still murder (no matter which side you are on).
The U.S has enough food to feed the entire world. We don't because it would lessen our leverage and power. We have medicinal items available to help prevent the spread of AIDS in Africa. We don't be cause we want their natural resources. The U.S. is helping to kill those poor people on purpose.
Jesus, my friend, would most definitely not approve. Watch where you throw your blame.

God did not create the world in the state in which it is now, but evil came as a result of the selfishness of man. God is a God of love and He desired to create a person and eventually a race that would love Him. But genuine love cannot exist unless freely given through free choice and will and thus man was given the choice to accept God’s love or to reject it. The choice made the possibility of evil become very real. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they did not choose something God created, but, by their choice, they brought evil into the world. God is neither evil nor did He create evil. Man brought evil upon himself by selfishly choosing his own way apart from God’s way.”
So blaming God for suffering and evil in the world is like saying "You shouldn't have given us a choice Lord. You should have made us love you and forced us to obey you." But that would not have been real love. Would you want to force someone to love you?
Because of our messed up state, we all deserve hell, Why? Because we reject our conscience, we're selfish - we lie, steal cheat, lust, envy, covet, murder, take God's name in vain etc. We know its wrong yet we do it anyway. Even when we wanna do right, we end-up doing wrong. Its because we are sinful people. Babies are starving because you didn't give them something to eat, it has nothing to do with God. Since man is control of this world, the world is messed up. And everyone is going to HELL for it.
But thats why God sent Jesus - to pay the cost of our rebellion and give us a way out from HELL. We need Jesus to show us the way. If you repent from your sins and let Jesus take control of your life, and recognize that he can only save you, then your soul will be saved. And then possibly, you'd be moved to go and feed those starving babies yourself.
Don't hate on God, God is not the problem, you are and you're going to hell for it. But Jesus made a way out for you, just accept him and he'll save your soul.

Because god wants them to suffer. Suffering is good. God does not give us more burden than we can bear. Least that is what I have heard countless christian say. So they must be very righteous people. God is loving you so much when you allowed to die of cancer, starvation, war, disease, etc, etc. It is mortification of the flesh so you may be saved. Everything on this world was made by God so it must be good. So next time you see suffering you should thank the Lord God Almighty that those folks are being given just what they can stand.

Maybe I missed that day in Sunday School. I don't recall any such promise from Jesus. Unfortunately, this is a cold cruel world. That is not God's making, it's man's making.
