Zionism began in the 20th century with the Dreyfus Affair. It was a political movement which many Jews supported for many different reasons. Orthodox Jews were the last to be convinced of the necessity of returning to Israel. Many of them continue to deny the existence of the State of Israel because they believe Jews should only re-gather there when it is God's will.

I have never known of any wealthy Jew who would lump anti-Semites with anti-Zionism!

International bankers created and funded Zionism.

Rotschild
J.P. Morgan
Lazard

Zionism is a secular political movement which gave the Jews a homeland thinking that the Old Testament God was still in charge. That is why Zionism is anti-Christian.

From my limited understanding, Zionism is a political movement, and not all Jews agree with it. Zionists want a homeland for Jews, i.e. Israel, and are willing to war for it. Zionism began NOT as a religious movement, but a secular one.

There is a small segment of Jews who are anti-Zionist, and some more who are just non-Zionist, which is pretty much saying "A Jewish state is nice, but not really neccesary." And often, Anti-Semitism and Anti-Zionism are together.

"You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely 'anti-Zionist.' And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God's green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--this is God's own truth. "

Basic to the Jewish faith is the idea that Gd gave the Land of Israel to the Jews. ZIonism goes all the way back to the first destruction of the Temple when, in Babylonia, the Jews wrote Psalms:::

Psalm 137:1-6 By the rivers of Babylon, there
we sat down, yea, we wept, when we
remembered Zion. 2 We hanged our harps
upon the willows in the midst thereof. 3 For
there they that carried us away captive required
of us a song; and they that wasted us required of
us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of
Zion. 4 How shall we sing the Etrnl's song in a
strange land? 5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let
my right hand forget her cunning. 6 If I do not
remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof
of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my
chief joy.

(by the way, how often is Jerusalem mentioned in the Koran? Not even once!)

Your question assumes that only wealthy Jews believe that antiZionism is antisemitism. I am not wealthy at all, but i too believe that antiZionism is antisemitism. Not all Jews are wealthy.

Having not spoken to all Jews, nor even all wealthy Jews, I am not in a position to know. More research is needed.
