Both my females have done this for years. Call the vet and ask if you can get a prescription called Proin-50 (phenylpropanolamine). This frequently helps. Although one of my dogs still has the occasional accident, it has helped her. The incontinence in older dogs is not unusual. My dogs acquired this at an earlier age due to them being spayed and no longer having the hormones that help keep their muscles tight. Good luck.

Just in case...the vet may ask for a urine sample to rule out an infection, not a bad idea!!

Incontinence in older dogs is normal. They make doggy diapers that you could put on her at night. I'm not saying that she will still have it on when you get up, but you can try them. Or you can take and put a wee pad where she sleeps at night.
One way to help with doggy incontinence is to spray their dog food with water and then sprinkle salt on top. Dogs do NOT process salt the same way people do so it will not hurt her.
Good luck.

Many times this can be caused by a hormone imbalance after spaying. It is not uncommon in older female dogs.

Your doctor can give you a prescription if this is all there is to it.

Or your dog may have a urinary tract infection.

See your vet.

Sounds like she's got urinary incontinence. The best thing you can do is talk to your vet. The following link has some insight as to what you may be dealing with. Good luck!

There is a product called "Leak No More". I haven't tried it, but hear from others that it works. They sell it at pet stores or I've seen it online at www.jefferspet.com

Mine does too, she is 15. As they get older they lose control a bit, just like humans.
