Religions are a joke, I agree. Endless examples prevail. American President case in point. Weapons of mass destruction, liberation, winning hearts and minds. Staying the course all bullshit what course ? Iraq slides into civil war he claims to hear the voice of god and the will of god. Do you think god knew there weren't any weapons ? Do you think god knew Iraq would head toward civil war ? Hell we took a picture from space of Hurricane Katrina think god was saying something before the storm hit ? Think Bush listened ?

My question to you would be, what is your religion. You may be an atheist. If so, why care about what we believe? The lack of God or an afterlife means all life is completely meaningless anyway. Just make your money, enjoy your life, and shut up.
You may be one of these people who says, "I am spiritual, but not religious." In other words, you believe in God but refuse to be a Catholic, a Baptist, a Jew, a Muslim, a Buddist, etc. But why would you believe in God? Where did you get your information that there even is a God. And WHO is God? Did you make Him up from your own idea, or did He/She dervive from some religion that you bash?
Either way, you have your own private religion. You do good things and bad things in the name of your un-religious god, whoever he or she is, and if you are an atheist, your god is the person in the mirror.

men are mortal and by such are designed to fail. We have been given the good word of God but through personal choice we have chosen to corrupt that good word of God. your theory is based on this fact alone. Did God not say that we were all here to be tested? If we pass the test we are exhalted. if not, well, we have some work to do in the hereafter. That's like me saying since my marriage failed and so did the marriages of several friends and 2 sisters, that marriage should be done away with alltogether. Such a flimsy arguement. Marriage didn't fail; the people in it did.
Thanks for the points. Have a good time in never never land.

So because Pat Robertson ( who does not represent me )
And Muslims Killing people, (who I believe are following a False Prophet)
And Jews, killing women and Children, (I am not Jewish)
Because of that, you condemn ALL Religion?
Religions are made up of men, men are not perfect.
I follow Jesus, and the Church he started, it's followers are not all perfect, but the faith Jesus left us is.
Peace Be with you!

There are more than just three religions in the world. Even if a person does something to contradict their religion, it doesn't make the religion itself a joke.

More good works have been done through the Church as a whole than any other organization in history. In His name, hospitals have been built, the poor are comforted, and the hungry are fed. Who are you to point to a few crazed political leaders that use religion their personal advantage?

The biggest joke of all is all the cash that people give the churches for helping to spread the word etc. but yet all that cash goes to a main office where it then gets invested in stocks like microsoft for one and who reaps the profits? Certainly not the people who are giving it and certainly not god. Religion is a multibillion dollar business and if money as they say is the root of all evil that makes religion evil since its all about the money.
To Josh up above you have to be kidding me . in his name and through the church things have been done . nothing would of been done if people didnt give and do for any of that to happen . I have yet to see god build a hospital or cure anyone who is inside it . I have seen men sweat and work to build a hospital and doctors and nurses do everything humanly possible to save lives but in my 45 years have yet to see god or the church as in the pastors and bishops etc. dirty one finger to build anything.

Not all people who believe in a certain religion act in a certain way. You can't label all people of one religion good or bad. The same way you can't do that with all people of one color.
You, my friend, are not in any position to judge others.

Your list of examples proves why religions *should* be taken seriously. They have the potential to do so much damage.

Well ever heard of humans??
They have many flaws, lying is one of them.
if you are going to call religion a false thing then actually study the faith itself not the people, because they are, after all, people and have many errors.
