Till what extent is the reservation policy of indian government justified?

Until the government takes away the natural resources lying underneath the reservation or all Indian reservations become casinos.

it was o.k. till few years of Independence of india. as the castes which were backward and illeterate were in real need of support to stand up once. but after 50-60 years of independence still if the need support to stand up on their feet , this is nothing but injustice to others. i don't think indian government has any reservation policy to make these people self sufficient. this policy is purely to attract votes of backward communities. and this is observed that now a days the people benefited from this reservation policy is none other than persons who are already enjoying good position in government departments.... real needy people don't get real opportunities.

huh the reservation policy sucks!!i really dont know what is wrong with the ministers of india....it is indeed very embarassing to note tht the ministers of india have stooped down to such an extent to fulfill their need to gather votes...
reservation based on economic backwardness can be justified...but givin extra help to backward castes even after 58 yrs of independence is just..hmm ..what can u say.sheer foolishness....such kinda policies encourage casteism and lead to the detriment of intelligent students

Are we not supposed to call them native americans? Are they happy being called indians or would they prefer to be identified by their tribe?

The only justification for reservation policy I can see is that they are not being harassed. I'm assuming they aren't constantly being harrassed.

True justice would be giving them their land back, but that's not really feasible is it? I think it would be fair to give them a tax free status, wether they are on the reservation or not.
