4.38 Gb on asingle layer .32 to tell the pc what is on the disk
if the files are zipped still 4.38 Gb but once zipped files are opened out on desk top you will have more than 4.38 Gb

Well, a full movie will fit on a DVD, so that's about 2 hours. The real issue is how much data you have to put on. A regular DVD has about 4.7 Gig of space. Do the math to see if your file(s) will fit on it.

Data is not rated in hours but by space consumed. Movies and music on cd and dvd is rated in time(but still really it's about space).

A dvd-r8x will give you 2hrs in (sp mode)4hrs in(ep mode) .
