You're looking for God in the wrong place. If you expect to have a conversation with God through praying, you'll be disappointed.

Luke 17:21

This sounds cheesy, but sometimes She answers "no." I think the tough part of believing that there is a grand plan at work which is too big for any of us to comprehend is accepting that god won't always alter that plan for you. I'm not saying "don't pray," but pray with the understanding that you are talking to God about your feelings and fears and desires but that She might have other plans for you. I don't know what your issues are, but if God won't answer the prayers of thousands of starving people for a bowl of rice, what makes me think She will jostle around her Plan so I get a better job or can make my car payment or whatever? Sometimes the Plan involves pain.

I'm sorry you're feeling this... I believe we are all connected, so you are not alone. Good luck to you.

Yes sometimes it can feel that God is far away but he's not. He is always there waiting. Usually when you feel that God is distant is when you have become stagnant with your relationship with him. God answers prayers in his own timing. Since we as humans can be so impatient it may seem like it takes an eternity for God to answer our prayers. And it may be that some prayers are not meant to be answered. God may be protecting you from something. You never know but he does!

Most people these days feel that sense of separation from everyone and everything, especially God. Just know that God is everywhere and everything... He is the energy that conducts the universe and everything is in motion... everything vibrates, everything is alive with a force that can be not only attributed to God, but IS GOD!

He is in your heartbeat, he is in your every breath. Learn that you are a vital part of a whole, re connect yourself to the source via the essence of the Holy Spirit and you will connect yourself to something wonderful and stop feeling so distanced. It is only in your mind. It is YOUR mind... you tell it what to feel, it should never tell you.

I used to but then I realized I had wrong motives when I prayed. My prayer life then changed because of God's will for my life and not what I want and need immediately. He brought patience and humility to me in communication with him on a daily basis.

no, god is everywhere. When I pray I know he hears me because i imagine him being the covers that keep me warm the light that lets me see the clothes i am wearing to keep me comfy and the air i breath that gives me life, and the food I eat that keeps me going. If your prayer was not answered its not cause he did not hear you but because it was not his will , there is always a good reason.

Yes, but I've come to know that it's only because I'm far away from God and there are things in my life that are blocking my communication with Him.

You are absolutely wrong --The God is the nearest person to you. Whether you pray or not pray He is always within you and takes care of you.

Gods wisdom is wiser than our prayers. His timing is perfect. Maybe its a timing thing that has ytou feeling that way or maybe you feel far away because of unconfessed sin or living an ungodly lifestyle? I am not judgiing you, just giving some possibilities.
