I started dating with him recently. We've bn kissing & chatting a lot.I really enjoyed it!I was starting to make a commitment to our relationship and only to find out that we're sharing the same surname.I'm using my mom's surname which is similar to his dad's surname.Are we cousins/something more like brother and sister?I really love him and he also loves me.I don't know what to do.Is it ok if I quit now?We both cried when we discovered this.I think it's unfair for us to proceed though we know the truth.I'm really hurt , caught up in the middle and lost.What is the right step for me to take? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Just because you have the same last name doesn't necessarily mean that you're related. Does your mom have any other children? If you are close to the same age, I would guess that you are not brother and sister....but ask your mom.

This is what sometimes happen when communication in families break down, i'm really sorry to hear this it is not either of your faults you both had no idea that you were related, thats the first point i wanted to make, but even you know it would be wrong to continue with this relationship, all you both can do is to learn from this experience which is a sharp, harsh lesson that the course of love does not always run smooth, but sometimes if we truly love someone, due to circumstances we learn to love selflessly and let them go.
I feel that if you both cannot bear just to stay friends, then you really must consider not seeing him again, for your own sanity...it hurts now but with time you both will heal, so start loving him enough to let him go. Good Luck.

Well idk cuz i can't tell...ask ur mom if she knows his dad...(tell her his name)...blah blah...then ask her what his dad is to you...like any relation to her or the family. He could be related to you. Some ppl can have the same last name as you and like there is no relation...but i would check with ur mom b4 anthing else.

r u sure your related?There are alot of people with the same name.Like lok how many people have the last name smith,davis,jones.Find that out first.
