I'm Mormon and I know your frustration, but let's face it, it's probably always going to be like this! People just listen to the negative stuff and have no desire to find the truth out for their selves. I have learned to just roll my eyes when people start going off and saying Mormon men have several wives, we kick people out of the church and believe they'll go to hell if they drink caffeine. (I drink caffeine & have yet to be tossed out of the church!) We believe in a different God, we worship
Joseph Smith...ETC...ETC...you know everything that is said!
Don't let it get to you. You know the truth and that is what matters. People criticize what they don't know. It's not something that just happens with our church, it happens with a lot of other thing's. Military, culture, other religion. Personally, I would rather look into something and learn for myself then to rely totally on what someone else tells me, but many people aren't like that.
Just continue with your beliefs and values, and you'll be fine. I'm sure one day you'll make a great missionary!

Anti-Mormons usually fall into one or more of these categories:
1. They have been deceived into believing lies and distorted truths about the Mormons, and feel the need to spread those lies.
2. They rely upon man's interpretation of biblical verses, which is often incorrect (as evidenced by the many quotations seen here of Revelation 22:18).
3. They may have had a bad experience with Mormons and made a generalization about the whole Church.
4. They are just hateful people to begin with.
5. They typically consider themselves to be Christians.
I wouldn't worry about them, though. Those who want to know the truth for themselves will find it. I have known a few people who, after years of anti-Mormon indoctrination, discovered for themselves what Mormons really believe, and as a result joined the Church. Every religion has its enemies. The best we can do is love them.

I would say it is the smae reason why Christians, Jews and every other religiong gets persucuted to a certain extent and treated wrongly. Aside from the fact that people do not like having to admit to a God beign real (especially in societies like ours in America) it is entirely biblical. Christ, Himself, said that anyone who believed in him would be persecuted ( to put the type of 'persecution" intoo perspective- google the persecuted churches of China- you won't feel so bad about it anymore). I grew up Mormon and converted to Christianity when I was 22. (I am NOT being rude- mormonism CANNOT be classified as christianity - it does NOT go hand in hand with the bible- I would encourage you to read the entire bible, asking God for wisdom- without any presupposition or idealogy whatsoever.) Sorry that people are mean to you over what you choose to believe.

I run into mind control, people can be sheep led by lemmimng or wolves and still call themslevs "Christian" I also find the verse in Gal 1:6-10 vs 10 being a source of hate which is propagated among the different sects, but alos know the book of Mormon teaches that riches and pride cause the sin if hate and cause class warfare among all believers, and Jesus did warn us against being like rocky soils where the cares of the world choke us and being rich is hard to enter heaven, we need God to make it possible

Young man, I'm a member of the LDS church also, this type of question is unnecessary. Anti-mormons will change their tune when Christ returns. Until then we must be patient and long suffering, these Yellow Dogs shall regret persecuting us. So take a deep breath and go study the Book of Mormon.

Anti-mormons probably mention that Joseph Smith was a con artist and that his entire religion is based on fraud and deception.
Also, the angel Moroni is the word moron with an i at the end to deceive those who followed in the footsteps of Joseph Smith.
Plus, A Mormom is more than welcome to attend an Eastern Orthodox Church Service, but I could not walk into the Mormon Temple in the DC suburbs because I'm not a 12th degree Mormon. Doesn't sound right....

Mormons do not follow the Bible for one. They base their faith off the Book of Moroni. Joseph Smith was visited by some beings and he thought they were God but they were from the devil because he didn't test them from the Bible as thought in Isaiah 8.
Also the Book of Moroni 10:4: "And when ye shall receive these things [the Book of Mormon], I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost."
I invite all Mormons to seek Jesus to guide them back to the truth which is the Bible.

I'm not a jerk, I think Mormon's are very good people. Nice people to talk to.
I do know that Jesus died for our sins, not Joseph Smith. I listen to Jesus's teachings, not a man's.

To start with you believe and follow the book of mormon. The Bible clearly says:
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
So you and your faith quite clearly add to the book of the bible. So the plagues shall be added unto you unless ye repent and ask the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness. The Mormons are a cult. Please do yourself a favour and get out of their church before it is too late for you.

Jn 20:30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in front of his disciples. They are not written down in this book. 31 But these are written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. If you believe this, you will have life because you belong to him.
Rev 22:18 I am warning everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If you add anything to them, God will add to you the plagues told about in this book. 19 If you take any words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from you your share in the tree of life. He will also take away your place in the Holy City. This book tells about these things.
.... Mormons think scripture is not sufficient which violates its claims.
