I've been training my Nanday Conure to wave, give me things etc.. But how do you get them to land on your hand?? Ive tried making her fly and putting my hand above the perch but no matter how much I try and get her to land on my hand she just dodges it. Shes not scared of me or anything and she trusts me, she will step up really easily. I was wondering if any of you know how to train them to land on your hand and then maybe after I've acheived that maybe get her to fly to me. But I'll do it one step at a time.

Thanks!!

Food is your number one choice. I have birds of my own and its best to train them when they are young. What you do is starve them. Then every day when you feed them only put a small amount on your hands. Give them a wistle or a sign that its feeding time. Do not spoil them by over feeding them. Only a bit to tease them. Do this often and more then likely the bird will come to you or even land on your shoulders. I've had no problems with my birds landing on my hands, arms, shoulders, even my head sometimes. Birds are fun animals.

Bribe them with food. My sun conure is so stubborn and she thinks she is the boss of the house and lately we have been trying to tech her differnet things. Food always works though. They love special treats they don't get every day. Try chex mix, my conure loves chex mix (honey nut)

well you could grab it and squeeze it in your hands until you break its wings and it can't get out of your hands.... but that may be a little too violent lol

Ok first talk to him gently. (make sure hes calm and use to you) put your finger out make sure you show him. he may bite you the first time. he'll hop on to your finger and stroke him gently.
