if there is neither gulab is there nor jamun wae there for gulab jamun so why we call it gulabjamun ?& why it tast sweet?

There is neither gulab nor jamun in the gulab jamun,because there is gap between gulab and jamun therefore we do not have them together.We call it gulab jamun because it is a name of the sweet sweet .Sugar is also used in the preparation that is why it is sweet.

Originally rose petals where added to the dish hence the name Gulab and since they where round/oval like black jamuns it was called jamun. over the years the name stuck but no one uses rose now. It is sweet because it is made in sugar syrup.

gulab jamun means "rose ball". which word is rose and which is the ball, i am not sure. it is very good though. i love making and eating them. YUMMMMM!

It is not very tasty without the syrup, and thats what makes it so sweet. It reminds me a lot of doughnut holes without powdered sugar. I don't understand urdu but maybe that would help with translating the meaning.
