I can't see anything doing it again besides something as dramatic as Saul/Paul's experience on the Damascus Road. Not that I hate Jesus or want to persecute Christians as he did, but I have tried that path before, and have found it toxic to my mind and soul. I had to cut out *so much*--music, magazines, friendships, asking questions! I almost didn't pursue the love of my life (another woman) because of it. I hated the pressure, I hated having to give other people the sales pitch to convert, I hated the endless rules-rules-rules. I know there are other ways to be Christian, but that's the way I grew up with, and it's hard for me to imagine anything else as "Christianity."
I like where I'm at as a Pagan. Worshipping multiple Gods makes sense to me. I think it's good for me as a woman and good for planet Earth.
You probably won't like this answer, but it is serious and honest.

It's a fair enough and respectful question, so I will respond in kind.
It would take proof that a God exists at all, that Yahweh is that God, and that Jesus of Nazareth was somehow more than a man. However, because I don't believe currently in a God at all, you would have to provide this proof without any reference to the New Testament, Old Testament, Torah, Talmud, or Tanuch.
You would have to show me that this proof makes testable predications and that those tests agree with the predictions.
If you can do this, I will accept Jesus of Nazareth with an entirely open and humbled heart and will confess that I am a miserable sinner. Until then, I believe that I am nothing more than a flesh and blood animal with the unique adaptation of self-awareness and logic, who tries to be good because evolution created an altruistic urge in us as social animals, and who doesn't always succeed at being good.

Deut. 32.39
See that I, I am He, there is no G-d besides Me.
Isaiah 44.6
I am the first and I am the last, and besides Me there is no G-d but Me.
No man may be G-d
Ezekeil 28.2
Because you have been so haughty and said, 'I am a G-d; I sit enthroned like a G-d in the hearf ot he sease,' whereas you are not a G-d but a man.
Ezekiel 28.7
I swear I will bring against you strangers, the most ruthless of nations, they shall unsheathe their swords against our prized shrewdness, and they shall strike down your splendour.
Ezekiel 28.9-10
Will you still say, 'I am a G-d before your slayers, when you are proved a man, not a G-d, at the hands of those who strike you down? By the hand of strangers you shall die the death of the uncircumcised, for I has spoken, declares the L-rd.
Isaiah 12-20 declares that any and all humans who claim to be G-d with die the death of men...
Human sacrifice is not acceptible to me...

well...take my case...when i was younger God was everything for me ,i went every Sunday to church, but then...something happened...don't know what..probably was the DaVinci code(know it sounds silly, but i began wondering if all,the bible, the faith, the icons could just be simple manufactures). I almost hated God but still was afarid of Him. As the years passed, I started regaining my faith. Now I do belive in Him, but I don't go to chruch because I think that the relation I have with Him resumes in my heart and in my prayers.
As an answer for you're question, try teaching pepole what they will earn if they make a connection with God. Pepole need Him in they're hearts, so they can feel the love and care and peace, so they could have a friend,a brother, a Father that they could talk to at any time.they need a confident too.
Hope it helps.:)

I loved Rogue Wyndwa's answer....
For me, growing up in a Christian Catholic household (my father is a deacon), with its blind faith and rigid dogma, the turning point was when I started to think outside the box. I started to read where the traditions came from, who came up with Christian doctrine, what happened before the Protestant Reformation, what parts of Christianity were at first pagan. I read many, many books and did hundreds of hours of research.
For me, there is nothing that CAN make me believe that Jesus Christ is God ever again. It is an illogical story and insulting to the intelligence of everyone on this earth. I do believe that Jesus/Issa was a real man and that he was a spiritual teacher in Israel/Palestine. I believe that he traveled widely in the Middle and Near East, as many ancient Buddhist texts refer to him (which the Vatican is well aware of but chooses not to mention). I believe that the vast majority of what masquerades as Christian belief is simply people's ability to "tap into" the best parts of their own souls. I believe that we all have a piece of the divine in us and that we are all capable of great caring, love and compassion. As long as that compassion and love are given with equanimity (that is, no group of people gets more than another), then I believe they are divinely inspired gifts.
I believe that "God" is the common spirit that unites us all, like an invisible river flowing from person to person all around the world. That spirit allows us to identify and mourn with a weeping Palestinian woman or an African orphan. That is the spirit that we need to pay attention to. That "God within us" is love.
This is why I don't understand bigotry. For example, the widespread condemnation of gay people wanting to marry is ludicrous to me. Two people are in love and love is good. Why would we seek to bury that, sometimes by violent means? Why not bring it out into the open and let it shine? The world can only be enriched by unions like this.
So, the Christian religions can not count me as a member of their ranks in this lifetime, and probably not in the next. Christianity and Islam and most organized religions are too narrow, too closed off from humanity on a spiritual level to change my mind. They are inherently selfish belief systems.

I grew up in a very strict Christian household, but as I grew older and spiritually, I decided Christianity is not for me.
I have practiced Wicca for many years now, and have found peace and happiness there. Since I have found happiness, how would you like it if I was to push Wiccan and Pagan beliefs on you? Chances are you probably wouldn't. Same goes with people that do not follow Christianity. Show us love and respect for our religions, give us a chance to speak about ours, and some may allow you the same in return.
Follow your heart, but no matter how wrong you think the other is, don't push and don't judge.

There is nothing here and now that could make me believe. There is too much psychology involved in all of it. Take a miracle for instance, people percieve it as christ or god "saving" or helping them. What about the people whom "god" or "jesus" visit? In this modern world, we'd consider that to be hallucinations. That is paramount to schizophrenia or extreme ignorance, As well organized religions and faiths have shown their true colors throughout history, and it was sad. How can I follow a mass appeal to something that actually cries murder?

Unfortunately, there is nothing you could say to me. I used to be a Christian and 'converted' elsewhere. I am much happier where I am now than I was. (And I am free to be much more open-minded now, I feel.)
Most people are probably very happy in the faith they have already chose to follow. I think you need to have faith that those whom you are 'meant' to save will come to you of their own volition.
I believe in God, and I believe in the same, basic, ethical guidelines as you do. I believe Jesus Christ was a great man who did many great things. But I don't believe he is or was God. I don't believe that God is a man, I believe that God is both male and female at the same time. (Androgynous) I believe that you don't have to ask to recieve the 'holy spirit' because we all contain the divine within us already simply because we all come from God. I call the 'holy spirit' our 'god-nature'. I believe that the Christian practice of 'asking the holy spirit to enter in' is simply an acknowledgement of that God-nature.
Once you acknowledge that part of you, you can no longer refuse the call to serve others (and therefore, God, since we all are gods in our own right since we all have that God-nature within us) or to act unethically. Some might see that the same as submitting my free will to the will of God, but that's not the case. I am helping others in my own way because I truly want to help others. I am doing it in the way that God has gifted me to do. (Tarot reading, advising, and reiki healing) Because I have a God-nature and have realized it, God's will is my own. I want this because I want this. My will is my own, and God's.
But... that's just my humble opinion. :-)
I believe that different faiths are best for different people. Christianity has a lot of great teachings (and some that I don't like as much, LOL). So, I believe that every religion contiains its own validity... I don't believe any one religion has it exactly right. So, if you are happy being a Christian, I am happy for you. I wish you could be happy for ME for being happy being what I am!
Blessings and Light

I strongly beleive in God and always will but I will never worship any prophets such as Jesus. Jesus himself never said to worship him. It was written in the Gospels after he died by someone who was mislead or corupt.
