Apparently, the previous owners of our house allowed their very large dog to stay out in the screened porch and he created a potty place in the wood, or so it smells like it during warm months. I don't seem to smell it in cold months and I've tried washing the floor with clorox and water, spraying fumigants, etc. I am looking for a product called Odoban, but still not sure that would do. Has anyone found something that definitely works? I hate to take guests to my nice porch.

I have never heard of Odoban, but I hope it works for you. What you may have to do is have the floor replaced. Sometimes the wood can only take so much. The discoloration, humidity, and smell may have taken a toll on it.

Unfortunately once the smell of dog urine gets into wood it is impossible to get it back out. You will probably have to pull the wood up and replace it.
My mom uses Odoban in the dog pound she calls a home, and its doesn't work. Trust me. I hate going to her house because it smells so bad. All that Odoban does is mix with the urine smell so then you get both smells the urine, and the odoban.
Good luck.

I have used Odo Ban for years, and it works great.
You can get Odo Ban at Sam's in the gallon jug...I would put it full strength on the porch, and leave it. Spray it occasionally if it continues, but since it has been saturated it may take a few applications.

try using a mixture of vinegar and water first and soak the floor then after it dries go over it with a disifectant like pinesol-lysol and go from there you will have to watch it if you ever get a dog if the new dog smells where the other sog has gone it will go there as well

Apparently rubbing alcohol neutralizes the smell - I was told to mix it into my regular wash. If not, pet stores offer excellent cleaning solutions that penetrate surfaces.

Orange Glo for floors.
Anything with orange is good for wood floors and covers up the smell.

if it truly is urine, you want to use something with vinegar or acid-like substance... nothing w/ ammonia or nitrogen products.... this will only make it worse.....try the vinegar, other than that you can try a pet odor remover.... i was told that a good one was nature's miracle stain and odor remover
