What if an agnostic asked a question on yahoo answers without the intention of anyone converting, would anyone read it?
What if, the agnostic, put a religious belief in the details, and asked if anyone else believed the same?
What if the religious belief was that there was no traditional Judeo-Christian God, but that people were connected by love, and when we die our souls would travel throughout the solar system together observing planetary orbits?
What if all that person was asking was, does anyone feel the same?
What would be the reaction, would people accuse the asker of trying to convert? Would Christians say the asker is doomed to hell for not having faith in the savior? Would atheists only read five words and say there is no god and give me an atheist website?
Would people who usually read the asker's questions say Yes Yes I believe as you do, and wonder what was in my heart today?
What does the answeror reveal in their answer about their own heart?

perhaps to get the answer you want - to find others who do believe as you do - then perhaps you need to do just what you did - and ask for only fellow believers to answer the question. so that we would know that it is what you are looking for and not our views on the matter. I could deal with that. If someone requested for specific ones to answer, I would step aside in the answering.
But, since you didnt restrict who answered it, I replied to some of your questions.
Since you asked if anyone would read it - I replied to show that I read it.
Since you asked if anyone would condemn you for your beliefs, I have remained neutral on that - I dont condemn anyone anyway - that is someone else's job, not mine.
If you had asked for an opinion, I would have tried to give you one.

How we feel and what we wish were true is one thing. Human aspirations and needs pretty much run along the same rails whether we believe in supernatural explanations of existence of not.
The fact that I am certain the Bible is not the word of God, or that I've seen no definitive evidence from which we can conclude there is a God as humanity has so far conceived one does not mean that the notion of a benevolent divine parent looking out for me and listening to my problems and joys isn't attractive. The fact that we have no evidence that our personality persists beyond brain death doesn't mean the notion of immortality and soul travel have no interest.
I've spent a lot of my life trying to find real supernatural things going on. Carl Sagan, also a non-believer, sumed it up for me when he was asked by Charlie Rose if after Sagan's first bout with cancer he had changed his mind about a God and an afterlife, he said, "I'd like to believe there's something, and that somehow we continue, but I've never seen any evidence of it."
I think we will never agree on the kind of God we would want if there was one, but I think many of those who would not want a God that intervened in the physcial world in any way, would still like to have an all-knowing and benevolent superbeing to learn from and interact with. I don't think anyone hopes that humanity is the only or highest intelligence in the Cosmos. I know I don't.

First, actually I think a lot of people would read the question, although not all may answer. You may or may not get the gamuts of your going to hells, or there is no god depending whom is online at any particular time.
Giving a view of your own belief is not tantamount to attempted conversion. If someone thinks that then are aren't really seeing what is being asked.
I do think a good deal of what you say makes a lot of sense but I'd not 100% agree on everything. After all, I am my own person.
I think most answerer's reveal a bit of their own personality in their answers. That is why they are so different and interesting.

Although I can't convince myself that your theory is true, I sure hope it is, it's a nice idea. And hey, if you're right, I'll meet ya at the volcano for a beer before the trip into the solar system. I'm buyin!! =)

yes, i would read it. i like to understand why some people do not believe. in being able to converse with them, i would be able to reinforce my faith by finding logical and provable answers to their questions.
i did not read all of your other stuff, but dont think that answers always reveal what is in the heart of someone. i can answer questions and even argue AGAINST christianity, God and Christ without being mean or arrogant.
i am a christian, but i am also a scientist and a soldier. i take the divinity of God and Christ by faith alone, but i use science and archeological history to sustain my belief.

I do wonder what is in your heart today, Jim, because you have been extra peaceable lately :) You know what I believe in, but most important to what I believe in are the universal truths of peace, faith, and love. I hope you are having a great day :)

I read the question. I don't believe that way. But, I asked a question for people to tell me their religious beliefs. You didn't answer it there, but you did here.

Is that an invitation to a date in the afterlife? LOL! A trip through the stars with your soul would be too awesome. I'm game. As long as marraige is a non-issue in the afterlife.

I like the concept, esp. the travelling the universe part. I'm hoping it does happen that way but I can't guarantee it in my own mind

i can't say who is doomed. That is the Lord's decision but agnostics should reconsider their position. Im married to one and it really does worry me.
