You can certainly do that when your enlistment is up. Also, you may have to go through Marine Corps boot camp, or at least ITR.

Your best bet, however, is to talk to a recruiter.

We did the opposite. Marines to Army.
I think after being in the Army, you might go crazy in the Marines, much more harsh on your body, and definately more Intense.Army is a walk in the park now. THAT SAID- It should'nt be a problem at all to change, Marines are always looking for prior service regardless of branch. Check with a recruiter, just call one up. When we switched to Army, he did not have to go to bootcamp He did have to sit at E4 for awhile- could be worse.
Good Luck

Oh, your chances are great. You could check with your "lst Sgt" about the switching but I think if I was doing it, I would slip out and talk to a marine recruiter about it and how it can be done and then when you find that out, follow the instructions of the Marine recruiter WHEN your present tour with the Army is UP.Siempre Fi

dear Patrick,

The qualifications, ASVAB,physical fitness and psychological testing of the corpse is superior to the army. If you are doing well in the army and in shape, this will be an easier transformation. At times you may loose a stripe.
The Marine Corpse is by far a better outfit.

shouldn't be a problem at all. my first husband did the same thing. Only the opposite, lol. Go to the marine recruiter, they will put you through physicals etc.. same process when you joined army. But odds are you will lose atleast one rank. I would go now before your term is up, seems to help your cause a bit. Its easier than getting out and starting over.

My hubby is in Iraq or I would ask him.... Call the local Marine recruiter and ask him. The only thing that sucks about going from Army to Marines is you loose your rank, so you have to start back at the bottom. That's what my sister's boyfriend did.

Do your time and separate from the service. Enlist in the Marine Corps and go through USMC boot camp.

A very good chance depending on your MOS. The Marines have just been obliged to call up 2500 Reservists because they're short of men in critical skills.

Marines do not accept prior service people. only the Air force, Navy and army does.

See your recruiter. You will have to go to Marine Corps basic training though.
