If I were you, I'd cut the lawn myself and save the money. When there is a sufficient reserve of funds, I'd then invest the money in education. I'd study genetics, culture, history and things of that nature so that I could become a thinking human being, rather than at pseudo-wit with a dim perception of reality.

yes it does, but note wages are related to employers. you offering to pay that and whomever wanting to do it for that price for temporary employment is up to them.

i've worked for free and i am certain my choosing to work for free does not make it unlawful for the other person in not paying me.
