If someone has been in the US illegally for the last five years, has had a job, paid his/her bills and kept out of trouble, what are the changes of that person becoming legal soon? If it's possible, how?

Accident of new legislation -- not something that can be counted on. But many illegal residents will never come to the attention of officialdom and thus will never be at risk. First among those are the ones who came in the early 1970s and before, when no proof of citizenship or legal residence or permission to work was needed to get a social security number either in the USA or in Canada. With that, one could keep a driving license and only need a passport to come and go to and from the USA.

There are many illegals like that. And also some unfortunates adopted as babies, never naturalized, and deported after commission of a crime. Having snuck back into the USA, their accent will never give them away, and so long as they have usable papers they are home free.

In fact, if you are accent-free and your fingerprints and DNA are not on file anywhere, the chances of deportation are nil. Jody Roberts managed a new life after she got amnesia:

It depends on what version of the Bill gets Passed ..right now I'd say "good"...just stay low keep on doing what you're doing and you'll make it to citizenship.

You see this country, the men and women have fought for bled and died for her, have been maimed, crippled, tortured and imprisoned for her as POWs, has no real Leadership, and has no real Honor, among it's politicians.

This is evidenced by it's straw leaders that won't / can't even enforce the Illegal Alien laws that are on the books for fear of losing a future "Illgeal" voting block!

I'd say your chances are very good ..these cowards and spineless wonders in Congress and the Senate will let it all slide
and the foolish middle class American will foot the Bill.

So I'd say your odds are very good...very good indeed, in fact why do we need Immigration Laws at all, since the ones that abide and conform to them will only get shoved aside and passed over for the likes of you... and the leadership of the USA will guarantee it! You're home free! You can thank the president.
