you don't... go to the vet and get pills/vitamins with Fatty Acids, this will help with the shedding somewhat... and you need to brush your dog often, recommend everyday if it is a lot of hair. But nothing is going to make it stop... everything sheds.... you, me, cats, dogs, snakes, fish, birds, insects, etc... it is a natural part of life...
Good luck and hope all goes well...

You'll never stop a dog from shedding. Dogs shed. However if you think your dog is shedding more than it should, you can try the following:
Improve the diet. Any dog food that is available in a grocery store is not a quality food. Get a food that's available from a pet store only.
Brush regularily (every day). Do it outside so that the stray hairs that go flying don't go flying onto your sofa.
Bath once a month. Bathing any more may give your dog skin problems and increase their dander.

Dog's just like people shed. It is a natural process.
If the dog is shedding until it is bald then you have a problem. If this is the case it could be a couple of different things.
1.) it could be its diet.
2.) it could have allergies.
3.) it could have fleas.
4.) you are giving it to many baths.
If you feel that your dog is shedding more then it should be. It would be a good idea to take it to the vet. Good luck.

Shedding is natural but immoderate shedding is just not. I had the same situation with my Lab, and i tried the whole lot from dietary supplements to shampoos to lotions and everything else. After a lot study the quantity one intent I learned was a scarcity of nutrients in their meals. I've at all times had my puppies on the highest of the line food. They were on Eukanuba, Candae, Eagle Pak, wellbeing and who is aware of what else. Then I determined Royal Canin which does make breed specified foods, and was once for Labs which addressed their coat's want by way of further Omegas 3 & 6 important fatty acids - Borage Oil (from the Borage herb) Soya Oil Fish Oil mixed with Biotin , Viatim A and Zinc for the coat. All of those are principal for a healthful coat. Seeing that he has been on the food his shedding has immensely diminished. His coat appears exceptional. So examine your puppies meals to be certain he's getting enough vitamins and minerals. There additionally coat dietary supplements at the Pet outlets that help, make certain they have the proper constituents.

If the shedding isn't any more than usual, just brush your dog's fur often with a brush.
Bathe your dog every 3 weeks.
If the shedding is more than usual, it might be a sign of illness, so see a vet then.

My dog had a digestive problem and was put on a dose of steroids. These stopped him shedding for the whole time he was on them, about 8 months. It was great! Not sure if he could have stayed on them for good, ask your vet.

Give your dog a better diet!
Although some breds shed more than others, quite a bit of the shedding issue is diet related.
Feed your dog a high quality food like those produced by Precise or Natural Balance. Supplement with Missing Link and fish oil.
That should take care of it!
