Have you had the dog's teeth profesionally cleaned lately? That could certainly help. You can also manually brush your dog's teeth, although dogs can often be quite resistant to that.

As long as ur dog doesnt have plaque build up (which would need to be scaled back at the vets) then you can purchase a dog toothbrush and toothpaste (dont use human one) You can also purchase a diet from the vet called Hills science diet T/D which is to keep the teeth clean and is a completely balance diet. Depending on what you are feeding it may be the cause for the breath.

Most pet insurances will only cover professional teeth cleaning if the pet has been diagnosed with gingivitis. If your pet is insured remember to mention this to your veterinary surgeon before they do your claim.
Also remember that dry food is much, much better for your pet's teeth. It can also make cleaning up after your pet far more pleasant (as long as you don't give them any scraps or soft treats).
I find that the rawhide chews with added fluoride are really effective used twice daily (some are mint flavoured as well - if your doggy likes it). I use "Dentabits" for the cat.
Obviously brushing your pet's teeth daily is ideal, but if you don't start when they're young it rarely works.
I don't brush my pet's teeth, but I do only feed dry food and give no treats except those mentioned above. I had my 10 year old cat's teeth checked recently and my new vet said he would have thought she was only 2 based on how good her teeth were.
Good luck!

Take him to the vets just in case he has infected teeth that may need to be pulled out. Also there is dental brushes and paste you can buy and use but what we do we use this dental stuff you just add to their water and it is all natural and safe they just drink it they do not even know you put it. we use this for our chihuahuas you can get this at Pet Co or Walmart. You can also try a health food store and ask someone there if they have anything safe and natural that works for this problem I think there is some spices and herbs that really work great I just can not think what it is i want to say cloves or something like that. Good luck hope this helps you..

The vet can clean them and u can buy doggie treats at like Petco or Petsmart, sometimes it is thier diet that makes thier breath bad. Ask a consultant at a pet store what works best.

There are dog treats out there that can help with that. The first brand that comes to mind is milk-bone, but there are many others. You could also try brushing its teeth if it will let you. Professional cleaning would be the expensive alternative, at least around here.

take him/her to the vet and have his teeth cleaned. Then do daily maintenance on his teeth. You can also give him a few milk bones a day. If you are feeding canned dog food you should brush his teeth after every time he eats. Hard dog food is better for dogs teeth. Good luck.

professional cleaning, rawhides, rope bones, a doggie toothbrush and doggie toothpaste (can be found at any pet store) make sure he has toys to play with that are good for dental use - like rope bones and toys with dental spikes that help clean their teeth. There are also lots of dental treats that help, like Greenies, charcoal biscuits, and mint flavored milk bones.
Also make sure your dog isn't eating poop. Gross, but many breeds as they age they eat poop. Make sure to always pick up after your dog, and this won't be a problem.

Cleaning the teeth will help, but most often the problem is his diet. Dogs on one of the "Science Diets" are usually the worst offenders even though that is one of the best diets around for most dogs.

Have your Vet check him at least once to rule out anything major and also get the real picture from him, it's better than wondering over reasons. Start brushing his teeth regularly and make sure he has plenty of water available to drink at all times.

green chews are available from major pet stores. The major ingredient in breath fresheners for dogs is parsley. Simplest solution is to add parsley to your dog's food.
However, This may well be a symptom of bad teeth or gum disease. Gum disease is a widespread problem with dogs. I would advise you to contact your vet asap. If you are short of cash PDSA will check your pet out.
Please check it out properly.
