What I did was let him wear undies during the day. I showed him the potty and explained he was old enough to go potty like the big people. Then I made sure to take him at least every hour to avoid accidents. Eventually he'll come around. And it works better if you have positive reinforcements...my child loves stickers!

This is what i did. I watch my sons potty habits. for example, "dose he pee when he first wakes up, dose he pee right after he eats,?" Just simple things like that. I let him run around naked for a while so i can "see" if he has to go. Once i determined what his potty schedule was like i bought him some training pants, the kind with the thick padding. And i bought him a potty that he could decorate and it had a handle that he could push when he got done handling his business. The cool thing about the potty was that you could record a message so when he "flushed" he heard mommy and daddy tell him he did a good job.

When he was tall enough to go on the big potty and stand up i had my husband take him and show him how a man was supposed to go. And when daddy was at work i put fruit loops in the toilet and told him to aim at the targets and when he hit one he got to put a sticker on the potty board.

I had major issues potty training my son.... he quit wetting at night when he was 1 so we put him in pull-ups.... he was in pull-ups for 2 more years..... Finally a week before his 3rd b-day I had him go around the house naked. He "went" on the floor once but he realized what was coming out at that time. So the next time he had to poo he knew it was coming...lol... He only pooed on the floor 2 times, after that he knew to run for the bathroom. I had tried everything prior to this tactic... I tried the candy reward thing with M & M's.... then tried stickers, tried putting him on the potty every 30 minutes... all kinds of stuff.... this was my last resort and it worked in 2 days.... Since then, my sister and friends have all used this way to teach their kids and it has worked everytime. The first accident on the floor I cleaned, but the next one he had to help me with. Good Luck

we bought a potty chair when he was 15 months. and started setting him on it when we gave him a bath . he hated it. when he was just over two years old we switched to pull-ups during the day and diapers at bedtime. we used a chart that said i went pee pee on one side and i went poopoo on the other each time he did one in the potty he got a sticker on that side of the chart. this worked great for about8 months.you have to be consistent. my son is 3 and half and just about trained now. i started too soon and pushed to hard and had alot of setbacks.its alot of work so wait til you are sure he is really ready good luck

I place my 2 year old on the toilet daily... 1 time in the morning 1 time afternoon, at bath time and bedtime... I place him on the regular toilet... but I face him on it backwards so he straddles the toilet... he was not interested in the little training toilets. I mostly found with potty training it seems that it is more training yourself as the adult to remember to take them to the potty.

I found the potty didn't work with my son. He wanted to be just like the adults so i just got a stool and put it infront of the toilet. I used to put cheerios in the toilet and let him aim. It was fun for him to go. Don't forget a lot of praise when he goes.

2 years old....that is so sweet I remember when my son was 2 years old now he is going to be 6 years old in October. Well I use to put froot loops or apple jacks in the toliet and I would tell him lets play a game and I told him to aim for the hoops and he would hold his penis and he would get a kick out of trying to hit them. That's how my little boy learned. Try it he might just like it.

For my grandson....we started a change jar...and everytime he went to the bathroom..he got money to put in the jar...then after a while he got to go shopping with it.......
Another thing that worked well...was the Cheerios in the toilet......he had to try to sink them. He had a blast with that !!!!
And going to the bathroom with Papa when we were out somewhere...to the big boys bathroom helped too. Good Luck !!!!
