Click, start, click run, type in msconfig hit enter, goto last tab "startup" uncheck EVERYTHING in there except anything pointing to virus software.

look in your start up folder
start /all programs /startup , delete all icons here
right click on the icons in system tray and checck there properties some will allow you to remove icon from system tray
or you can do as others have suggested and go
Start,
RUN, then type
msconfig
then uncheck
