Kisses,
I have read most of the suggestions so far, I must say they have all made me hungry. I kept going back to your question though... This is a group of 16 year old girls.... A Drill Team.... And a meal before the performance at a football... I think I got it all. Well, I definitely wouldn't suggest any meal which produces bloated remissions if you get my meaning. I've made only a few meals for entertainers and athletes, but it was always a golden rule. Don't give them anything thats going to weight them down. A DrillTeam is about precision and sharp moves. You wouldn't want the young ladies sluggish and gassy... Build a meal based on the athlete. Contrary to popular opinion, the football players aren't the only athletes on the field. Give them a meal to sustain the energy level they have to hold on to. Think foods that provide maximum performance dividends. The salad bar idea is a great one, but as long as they don't over indulge with the greeny veggies.... Look out football team there will be a pass you won't want to catch...
Hope you and the young ladies have a great time...

Hooters-style Buffalo Wings
Servings: 2- 4 servings.
What you need:
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
Vegetable oil for frying
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Louisiana hot sauce or other
1 dash ground pepper
1 dash garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 chicken pieces
Bleu cheese salad dressing & celery sticks
Ready, set, cook!
1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees. You want just enough
oil to cover the wings entirely -- an inch or so deep at least.
2. Combine the butter, hot sauce, ground pepper, and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat until the butter is melted and the ingredients are well blended.
3. Combine the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt in a small bowl. If the wings are frozen, be sure to defrost and dry them.
4. Put the wings into a large bowl and sprinkle the flour mixture
over them, coating each wing evenly. Put the wings in the
refrigerator for 60 to 90 minutes. (This will help the breading
to stick to the wings when fried.)
5. Put all the wings into the hot oil and fry them for 10 to 15
minutes or until some parts of the wings begin to turn dark brown. Remove the wings from the oil to a paper towel to drain. But don't let them sit too long, because you want to serve the wings hot.
6. Quickly put the wings into a large bowl. Add the hot sauce
and stir, coating all the wings evenly. You could also use a large plastic container with a lid for this. Put all the wings inside
the container, add the sauce, put on the lid, and then shake. Serve with Bleu cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side.

I would suggest either build your own tacos or a baked potato bar.
Baked Potato Bar
Kids Cooking
Just imagine a large baked potato served with bowls of butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa and flaked tuna. Choose a russet potato for baking. Russets weighing between 3/4 pound and 1 1/4 pounds are classified as “bakers.” Do not wrap potatoes in aluminum foil for baking. Foil holds in moisture and steams the potatoes, resulting in a boiled taste and texture. For a tender skin, brush a little oil on the skin. Other toppings such as: cottage cheese, chopped tomatoes, sliced green onions, broccoli flowerets, grated carrots, garbanzo beans, yogurt, olives, chili or bacon bits can enhance your potato bar.
Preparation time: About 15 minutes.
Equipment you’ll need: Vegetable brush, fork, shallow baking pan, tongs, serving platter, bowls and serving spoons.
Safety: Use dry potholder to put baking pan into oven and remove. Ask an adult to turn potatoes after 30 minutes of baking.
Recipe:
4 baking potatoes
Unsalted butter
Sour cream
Shredded cheese
Salsa
Flaked tuna
Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
1. Preheat oven to 400-degrees
2. Scrub potatoes under cold running water. Pat dry with a paper towel.
3. Prick potatoes with a fork several times to shorten baking time and to keep them
from bursting in the oven.
4. Place potatoes in a baking pan and bake for 1 hour or until tender when pierced
with a fork. For even baking, turn potatoes over after 30 minutes. .
3. To serve, ask an adult to cut a large “X” on top of each potato and push up sides
and ends.
4. Put toppings in individual bowls and let each person create their own
“stuffed potato.”
Yield: 4 servings.

A fun thing that we do is get skewers and let people make their own shish kabobs. We set out pieces of pineapple, beef, chicken, sausage, onion, tomato, apple and potato, and let people slide what they want on the skewers. Have some barbeque sauce handy and place them (carefully) on a grille.
Have fun!

Tacos? Everyone can fill them themselves, makes it a bit more fun. If you have loads of bits on the table, there will be something for everyone!
