There may be something wrong with your CD drive. Though it is a large coincedence that it freezes after exactly 34 mins each time. Another possibility is your installation media for Windows may be partially corrputed and the computer is having trouble reading it. Also, a portion of your hard drive may be bad and it's freezing up when the computer is trying to write to the bad sectors. A fourth possibility is sometimes when the screen flickers during installation of Windows, that's when the video drivers are being installed. Perhaps there is a hardware problem with your video card.

Are you really sure it freezes? Sometimes while installing the computer may appear "frozen" for 10 and more minutes but it is actually installing, so my advice is to wait a considerable ammount of time before restarting, like even half an hour if you wish to be sure.

as answer one suggests the screen will go blank from time to time when install default values for your software, can take up to 10 minutes depending on your specs
try cleaning your disk and also use a cleaning disk to clean your cd-rom
another thing to try would be to to do a FULL format when installing this removes all data of the drive
