Depends on the state you live in. In California, legal age is 18. Even if there is consentual sex, anyone can turn your boyfriend in and he can be arrested for statutory rape.

Legal shmeegle!!!
Go for it and quit asking such dumb questions!!!
Especially since you are legal in your state...
Just don't move to another state together until you are 18
If the sex, and everything else, is good why are you worried about the age difference..it isn't that big of an age gap
Hell, I'm 55 and seeing a 19 year old ( I Love 'em very young...they make me feel like kid in a candy store) but we aren't planning on marriage or anything like that...i wouldn't want to burden her once I hit my 70's or 80's, and can't wipe my own butt anymore...
You won't have a problem like this cuz as I said..there isn't that big of an age difference

There are ways around it but it does depand on what state you live in . I live in West Virginia. When I was 16 I was dating a 31 year old man that was not married and did not have any kids. (honestly true) When my dad found out oh holy crap he flipped out!! On me and the guy both. Then my dad called the law. They came to my dads home and questioned me about the relationship. They asked me if I consented to sex with the man and I said yes. They asked me several questions and wanted some pretty graphic details of the relations we had had . But the main answer that saved the man from going to jail was the question of "Did you at anytime tell this man "NO". Of course I hadnt told him no so they basically told my dad that there was nothing that they could do because I was of the age of consent. The gentleman and I dated for two more years and got married and had two beautiful children . Then one day 8 years later came a deputy sherriff looking for my husband because he had not submitted to a court ordered DNA test on a two year old girl. He was at work and I was out of my mind with anger when the deputy conveniently forgot something in his cruiser and had to return to his car while leaving his clipboard laying on my couch i read the order for the arrest . Well I politely told the officer when he returned in my livingroom that I would take him to my husbands work and introduce them properly ...hahahaa...so needless to say i watched them put the handcuffs on him right in front of me ...then I returned home and threw out all of his stuff into the street and changed the locks on the doors and went straight to the courthouse that day and filed for a divorce. I know that has nothing to do with the question but thought it would be entertaining. Hope you dont mind..............you are only sixteen , date have fun and enjoy your life. Nothing is forever!! Nothing!!

It depends on your state and the law there. What you have to worry about is the age of consent. GENERALLY in the US the age of consent is 16. But it varys from state to state so you will have to check what the local law is. Check my source out. They have a chart of all of the states and the age of consent. The second source will explain the age of consent, whats legal and whats not. Good luck and God Bless!

Well I have not a clue where you live at but either way I know it is illegal because he is over 18 years old. Be careful there can be alot of trouble with the police and court. I had the experience. I was 11 and my boyfriend was 15 and everything was okay. My parents use to take it as a joke. Then I became older and we were still together I had sex with him when I turned 13 and my parents fliped. Then I got pregnant at 14 and he was 18 and my parents wanted him to be arrested because they said he was too old for me. That broke my heart so I moved out my house and we lived together. He got locked up for a little while but then he got out and we are together. Now my son is going on 6 years old and we are still together. But I just got off the subject. Please be careful. You don't want to be heart broken and you wouldn't want him to get in any trouble.

If you can consentually give him sex, then you shouldn't worry whether or not your relationship with him is legal. This is what most people get in trouble for is statutory rape, in this case, it obviously matters not. In most states, the LEGAL age to consent is 18, so if that's not the law in your state, don't worry about it.

If you are old enough to consent to have sex in your state, then there is nothing illegal about your relationship. Laws are designed to address specific behaviors, not vague things like "relationships". There might be laws covering whether or not you would be allowed to marry, or whether you could do so with parental permission. However, if that's not your concern, don't worry about it another moment. Please ignore the people who are trying to scare you. If you know you're old enough to give consent in your state, you have nothing to fear.

No matter in what state you are in this is still a illegal age gap and no matter how many times you tell law officials that you consented to having sex with this man it is still considered statetory rape, be careful and lots of luck...
