I had a miscarriage in July and got pregnant again in Early Aug and now am miscarrying again. I had a D&C with the first one but it was rushed and so unpleasant and painful. I still have antibiotics from that one and started taking them as soon as I started miscarrying again. The Doctor that I went to last time was so Cold and wasn't very compassionate. I am new to the area and didn't have a OB/Gyn so the Hospital referred me to one. Now I am afraid to go get checked out. He just slapped me on the table and just started cleaning me out and it was painful. I was already dialated though but still it was painful. He didn't even tell me what to expect. So this is why I want to know if I can go through this on my own along with antibiotics. I am throwing out a bunch of clots and changing my pad every 2 to three hours. I just feel like I'm on my period but with clots. I felt this way during my last miscarriage. I am only 4wks with this one and the first I was 4wks also.

First, I'm so very sorry for your losses. I've also had 2 miscarriages.

With my first miscarrigae, I wanted to just let my body do its thing, so I waited and waited. I ended up having the most painful cramps and heavy bleeding of my life for about 3 weeks. Just when I thought I was done, I started bleeding again, so I opted for a D&C. I never bled or cramped with my second miscarriage, and I didnt' feel like going thru the whole process again, so I went right in for a D&C.

Your experience sounds horrible, and I agree with whoever said it, but some people should not practice medicine.

To answer your question, yes you can go thru a miscarraige with out medicine and surgery, but be careful and monitor your bleeding. If you start to bleed such that you are soaking a pad thru in less than an hour, get to the hospital right away, because you can bleed to death. Also your bleeding should not take more than a month. If you are still bleeding and clotting after a month see a doctor and discuss options.

If you ever opt to have a D&C again, you should have this done in a hospital. It is an outpatient proceedure, but you should be put under general anestisa and be in and out in a few hours.

I recommend finding an OBGYN you can trust and with whom you can build a relatioship. You should also follow up with some one when you are done miscarrying and have a well woman exam. You might also want to have tests run to see if there is any reason for your miscarriages. I had a full blood work up done and genetic testing of the fetal tissue done after my second miscarriage.

I think you will find that most OBs are kind and very caring people who want to help you. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. Miscarriage is hard enough with out some jerk treating you like a number.

Good luck with everything

I am sorry to hear about your losses. I had a miscarriage about 41/2 months ago, I got through it without a D&C and I used Tylenol for the pain. I was 7 weeks, I think it is very possible for you to go without a D&C, I would seek medical attention though. Look in the phone book and call a few different ob/gyns....the other doctor should have told you to wait at least 3 full cycles before trying to get pregnant again, to give your body time to heal. Good luck and God bless!

No, you have to go to a doctor and right away. The antibotics from the first one are no good at this point, and you won't have enough to take even if they were still good.

You run a huge health risk if you don't get checked out. Go and find an female OB/GYN, you might have better luck with the "bedside manner" aspects.

I miscarried at 8 weeks. No D&C or medication. I waited for it to come out naturally when it was ready. Painful as h3LL but, it all came out on its own. Very scary moment, but I bled about 3 days like a heavy period and that was it. Your body does all the work, like going into labor. Your body knows when its time.

Some people shouldn't practice medicine. Really feel for you and the experience you had. You might try asking for a woman doc, or a midwife. If you feel uncomfortable with the doc doing the procedure, reach down deep for strength and tell him/her to get the H away from you. Request another doctor. You don't need all that b.s. in a situation like that. You need compassion and care.

I'm sorry for your pain.

Please find another Doctor or get another referral from the hospital as quickly as you can. You shouldn't mess around with a miscarriage happening. Don't mess around with your reproductive health. Get help now.

Best wishes to you.

It all depends if anything is left in your body.
When I had a miscarriage, everything came out like it was supposed to. I didn't have to have a d&c or any medications, but remember if everything doesn't come out the healthiest thing for you is to have a d&c or use the medication.
