intent is the worse "error"to intend to hurt someone to KNOW that you are deliberately going to be hurtful .

If you didn't know their intent, and gave the item with innocent heart, don't worry about it.

If you gave them something that isn't an innocuous thing, like a gun or drugs or alcohol, and you are an adult, then you have done wrong to that person. You should have known better.

If you gave them something full knowing what they were going to do, that is wrong and God will hold you fully responsible for that

Everyone is responsible for their actions. But lending something like a letter opener to someone who is responsible - is their fault if they do something stupid. However if they are not responsible or they are a child then its the adult who takes responsibility.

It would not be your fault if someone used something to hurt themselves. It would be the stupidity of themselves. God would never hold that agiants you, or hold you responsible. Anyways, isn't God supposed to be forgiving.

No one would hold you responsible for something someone did behind your back. BUT: Did you abandon your friend after they hurt themselves? God did command us to love one another.

I don't think that he would hold you accountable. If you lend someone something out of the goodness of your heart and did not intend for them to do anything wrong with it. I don't see why it would be your fault at all.

No, you are not responsible for someone else's actions. That person had free will, and they chose to make a bad decision. It's not your fault.

well, i asked a friend of HIM and the answer is no- if you had no idea what the object was going to be used for-you are exculpated ( not held liable) UNLESS that object is one which is GENERALLY used to cause harm, like a gun or a cannon or a sidewinder missile. in that case, you are solely responsible for it's use if you knowingly give the object to someone for any purpose. so unless that gun was stolen from you, you are responsible for what happens with it.
