I tend to believe that I am a rational adult. But, you have to understand and appreciate that the Internet is the Great Equalizer; for every rational adult you come across you will run into (on average) two grade schoolers, three teenagers, two religious fanatics, a misanthrope, a misogynist, a psychopath, a criminal, and four jerks. It's just the way it is.
Be patient and you will find the answers you seek (and the right people to offer them to you).

There are rational and thoughtful questions and answers on this site. But if you feed them to short-lived points-hungry bacteria, any Petri dish will look like a desolate war zone.
Hey, this is just a joke from a bacteria to another. I'm not suggesting that we should ignore the serious substrate on which this darwinian experiment thrives :)

This site is full of mostly bored 13-17 yr old kids. You expect much of a spirited discussion with them?

Yes, I asked one and even got mostly rational answers. Only one was not rational.
But, for the most part there aren't any.
